Full Volleyball Match between Japan and USA from 30.07.2021 in Ariake Arena, Tokyo at the 2021 Olympics.

Brazil Volleyball won the entire match 3:1 with Leal scoring 19 points.

Whenever Sander and Anderson are in rotation with Bruno blocking, they either swing hard down the line or try to tool Bruno. Excellent tactical play for Christenson to identify the mismatch. Too bad it wasn't enough here.

I also think there is a distinction between utilizing a mismatch, or simply going with who's hot. Micah is the best in the world, IMO, but even the best setters miss that, sometimes. I felt the BIC for both OH's was wider open, being that the Brazilians were going two tight, one loose on the block (with Bruno leaving early, rhythm or momentum-wise). Easier said on tape than after the match - I totally get that - but watch it again, and watch Brazil's in-system blocking scheme.
