Great to see inside the engine. I've owned my 940 Classic CD estate for just over 14 years. It's been amazing. Gearbox went just after I bought it for £1000 with 84k miles and its now just passed 140k. The turbo was replaced in 2015. It was smoking and I wasnt sure if it was the engine. It's been so reliable and the best car I've ever owned. We've had Volvo's in our family since 1983 to transport cookers to customers, as well as carrying a big family. I'm the only one left with a Volvo, as I absolutely love 'em. Comfortable, luxurious and safe in a 1997 car with hardly any rust.

You have excellent taste in cars sir I was that close to clicking on a 940 a week ago that went for near £1200. Can't wait to see more on this one.

Always wanted a 850 T5 R after falling in love with them through the BTCC. Got to be the estate version too.

Yes that’s another one that’s on the list. I tried to find just a nice tidy T5 doesn’t seem any of those about either.

Its so funny to me is that all you youngsters are into these big Volvos now and yet 20-30 years ago I wouldn't have had one for my daily (farmers /Grandad cars) because I'd have been laughed at. Don't get me wrong though, they're bloody good cars, great for towing etc but back then not in the least bit trendy as they are now.

I have always loved these cars. Think the way they are build and the fact they are so well made is awesome. It’s just annoying it’s taken me so many years to get my hands on one.

Years ago I bought, used and sold 2 second hand 240's one after the other. And the feeling of regret began to grow. The only cure was to buy another one. A 240 that is. But as I pondered where to get one and what condition I wanted I came to the conclusion that a 940 was like a 240, only better. The 940 is the result of starting with a brilliant model, the 240, and developing it over several decades. There are many ways the 940 is a better car than the 240. Have you ever replaced the a/c fan in the cabin? You know what I mean. So I bought a 940 wagon. Never regretted it.

I own a 945 classic too. And its even in the same colour. Only difference i can spot is the grille, i got the egg crate looking one. My 945 has the B230FT engine and an automatic transmission.

This is owing to be interesting Marc, I’m looking forward to seeing the car itself and what it needs doing. I have a Volvo XC60 as well as my Mini, a defender and Mitsubishi L200, The XC60 is a great driving experience and this snow has allowed it to really show how good it is in difficult conditions, but I suppose you wouldn’t expect anything less from a car built in Sweden.
