Volvo D9B 340 semi engine rebuild due to piston failure. Had cracked all 6 pistons but also burnt a hole through one of them as you can see, but amazingly still ran but like a smoke machine. Pistons are aluminium but if they were more like the D13 engine then would last longer as they are all steel. Notice i got the 13L head gasket! I did not even bleed the fuel system and tried my luck cranking to my surprise it started straight up. Good old Volvo!
