Another interesting video 👍🏻 I noticed a blue light down by your handbrake which iI assume is the OBDII port? Do you keep the device plugged in all the time? Does this provide an analysis of performance during your trips?

Yes it is, I like to run OBD torque to track data on long journeys :) it gives you a good indication of the overall health of the car and means you can spot any oddities before they cause issues :)

You should try driving a xc70 in snow its like a tank on rails.

In which month did you drive to the artic circle please? Is your Volvo front wheel drive? Did you need snow chains or were the Mich Cross Climate 2’s all you needed? Could you do a video on how you prepared for your trip please? Reason I ask is I have a plan to go on a winter trip north in search of the northern lights.

Without wishing to be negative, I was wondering what sort of breakdown assistance cover you had for your road trip? We have done a couple of road trips to Sweden but only from Stockholm down to Ystad and over to Jōnkōping. These were in the summer and mostly on motorways. I would love to go up as far as Jokkmokk but I’m a lot older than you and less mechanically minded. When I see the very few cars that pass in your video (part of the charm of the area) , I was just wondering if they would even stop to help? Sorry to be a bit negative. Great video. Thanks again for all your content.

@@drivelife.channel OK but did you notice what the 3G/4G signal was like so far North? I have heard that Sweden’s mobile service is excellent but I do wonder about how accessible it would be up there 🤔

I would like to get a v40 as my next car, with the winter pack. do you know if it has all the winter features like your s80 does? I have a real soft spot for Scandinavia! Volvos, ikea, cold weather, I wish we had more of it! Great video

Hello! V40 does not have heated washer nozzles. But with winter pack it has heated windscreen instead :)

Missus has a v40 Cross Country, full body kit (square exhaust pipes),heated windscreen front&rear,heated leather seats,full led headlights, 2016, D2 diesel engine, zero £ roadtax,very economical and 4 years later no issues . Very comfortable and plenty of power for daily motorway commute. It is a very solid car, really well build,similar to s80 in quality. I do recommend it. I do owned a v80,d5, 2007 ,but manual,bought it upon watching this channel, 3 years later and i still love it,not thinking to change it

I've just sold my V40 D3 R-Design which had the winter pack. God I miss it! Great car. It had heated windscreen, wing-mirrors, automatic rear-screen heater and heated seats/steering wheel. It was great it Winter, great in Summer and the best car I've ever owned. Very well built, nice to drive, very very comfortable and stylish in my opinion

Thanks for your video. How can I find out if I have heated side mirrors on my V70 d5 2012? I don’t see a setting in my menu?

Checking the user manual now and side mirror heating seems combined with the rear window heating. And I have a menu setting for auto rear window heating below 9 degrees Celsius. Let’s see if the condens disappears from my side mirrors tomorrow morning 😊

Press the rear window defroster and wait 10 sec.After that put the back of your hand/fingers on the side mirror glass and see if they are warm.

Winter mode helps you get started in 3rd gear, thus minimizing any wheel spin. It has nothing to do with the AWD system nor does it control its mode. On an AWD vehicle (and especially as you move) you do not really need to engage it. It is much more useful on a FWD or RWD Volvo
