Quite likely, solved it in my case. For what it costs (time & money) - most rational place to start and at least rule out.

Yep, it came off - it was just a 'how to' guide more than me physically taking out the bowl and changing the filter which I did as well, just I didn't record it.

@@pistonhedd I just changed the filter some days ago (XC90) and it was a pain i.t.a. to detach it from the car, which indeed was the most "difficult" part imo. Reatach it was a very easy task and could be done without any tool :D

@@SHINdanny ah right, good stuff - I'm not familiar with the XC90 tbf, but I've watched different vids on YT on 'how to' guides over the years on different cars that I've owned and if I'm not sure on what to do on a certain job. I think one day Haynes workshop manuals will be obsolete.
