One of the most common reasons people take their dog or cat to the vet is because of digestive upsets such as vomiting and diarrhea. Usually it is because the owner gave them something that upset their stomach because the owner was trying to be nice or because they got into something they shouldn't have. Pets do best on the same diet day after day. If their stomaches do get messed up take away all food and water.

My pup had the pyometra, drinking a lot of water and throwing it up. We got her saved with emergency surgery but she's still vomiting 3 weeks after and a 3rd trip to the vet. They said she's constipated so I've been giving pumpkin, boiled chicken, and rice. I have been by her side non stop for 3 weeks so she didn't get into anything else. I hope it's not a permanent thing. 😢

Hi Jessica. I'm glad that you-tube sent me your email as we set up those videos with an IT person we used about 7 years ago and didn't realize they were still online. I'm so sorry to hear about our pup's ongoing problems. I spoke to Dr. Smith and he feels that constipation is something that we can generally get under control as we can persistant vomiting as well. He doubts that the previous pyometra is the cause of the continued vomiting, although it may have caused it initially. We would be glad to take a look at your pup if you live locally and I am happy to offer you a free office visit examination to do so. Dr. Smith had a health issue and is rarely in the office seeing clients anymore, but we have three very good and experienced veterinarians that have worked with Dr. Smith for a number of years (14, 7 and 1 year respectively). Dr. Smith feels that we can help your pup and make her comfortable again. I have a hound mix that I rescued about 1.5 years ago. She is originally from Turks and Caicos. She regurgitates about once a month. My vet is having a hard time trying to diagnose her. Any ideas? I have changed her diet, now use slow feed bowls and I give her pepcid when she licks her lips.
