😂 Anyone who says the refresh rate bothered them on this optic is a liar and trying to find something to nitpick to fit in with other people that are upset with a new contender to the market…I’m glad your review didn’t necessarily fall into that grouping. Battery life is another thing people complain about. Even with the battery life as advertised, the battery will last over one year…. So again, if someone is complaining about battery life - they’re being completely disingenuous as if you’re not replacing your RDS battery each year you’re doing yourself a disservice. Aside from that, your comment in the texture is bizarre…. It absolutely has proven to be beneficial when racking tests have been done by more thorough reviews. There are plenty of pros and cons that are entirely legitimate…. A large window is something some look for and others don’t…. It provides a lot of bulk compared to others. The Defender also lacks an enclosed emitter which seems to be all the fad nowadays.

Meh. If I needed a k series I would definitely get a eps over this.

Ive used it for a couple hundred rounds thru a Canik SC. The glass to housing fit is a little rough. I hear zeroing at 25 with the 1° shim makes the emitter not able to reach the bottom of your window, at 15 with no shim I don't have that problem. Nothing else to mention at this time. 🦅🇺🇲🦅

Did you add the plate before shooting or did your gun require it to use the plate

I like mine.... Put it on an arex delta m. Seems to be a great marriage. Refresh rate dont bother me. Its a ccw dot. Its a "dot" in low light. In low light my 407k is a butterfly shaped dot. Halo effect in low light is strong tho. I liked it.

The refresh rate has always been terrible on Vortex red dots, including their holographic. I never understood why, especially now that they've had years to get this one right.

How do you like this thing after a couple months?

Any one know if this red dot could fit on a sig p320 m18? I know it comes with the screws for it but will i need a adapater plate ?

The texture on the front of the optic is the 1st or 2nd optic that I've seen having this feature. I think it's brilliant, I don't know why you think it's a gimmick; I rack the slide on my FNX-45 Tactical almost exclusively by slapping my hand onto the front of my HS509T & charging the weapon. It might not be the best training method, because not every gun will have an optic, but it's fun!

Thanks for the review . I bought a lightly used Shadow Systems DR920P and the previous owner slapped one of these on it , the 6MOA version . Upon my first trip to the range, I noticed the brightness was going all over the place while shooting . When I got home and pulled it out of my range bag, it was on full bright , like looking into the sun and wouldn’t dim. I swapped batteries and tried adjusting settings to no avail. I contacted Vortex customer service and they were great , they paid the shipping back to Wisconsin even tho I was not the original owner and had no proof of purchase. I’m waiting to get it back before I pass judgement. Will see how this turns out . I’ve trusted Trijicon and Holosun and this is my first experience with Vortex

The 14 hour shut down time is a deal breaker for me! The optic would never shut down if you carry it daily come on vortex set the shut down time down to a 1/2 hour or less or just make it adjustable for time!

Let me get this straight....no issues, bigger window, comes with tons of hardware, shake to wake, long battery life, easy to change battery, tactile adjustment buttons, functions as advertised........but a C-?

So… you say it works as advertised… you say you’re not wild about because you don’t “carry guns like this” I.e. the intended purpose of this sight.. why did you even make this video?.. I’ve never seen this channel before, it came up because I specially searched for reviews on this optic. I don’t think I’ll be watching much else from this channel. Seems kind of snobby if I’m being honest. Definitely not what I would call an objective review.
