Hey, in this video I am talking about the differences between the three words вот, тут and здесь. They all mean "here", but why do we have 3 different words?

The main difference between ТУТ and ЗДЕСЬ is that ЗДЕСЬ is more bookish style, whereas ТУТ is the version of spoken, colloquial language. That's it.

здравствуйте, Aнастасия. Могу ли я сказать: "Tyt + есть", или только здесь + есть? As a beginner, I have only seen здесь used in that construction

I use duolingo too, is it a good app to learn russian? Or I have to change it?
@saran6332

Its a good tool for some vocabulary and offers decent listening practise (for freeee), but you don't build a house with only a hammer. Try finding multiple tools, since duolingo doesnt have it all - it definitely lacks grammar, faster native speech and maybe lengthier texts. Just my experience. Be free to search the best way to learn for you!

We can use тут to refer a spatial point ‘here’ both in an actual physical space, and in a figurative, metaphorical space. For example, in a speech, when you hear ‘I’d like to stop HERE for a moment, let’s wait for Peter.’, we understand the speaker is not going to physically freeze himself where he stands, making no movement at all, instead, we know it is his speech that stops ‘there’, due to nothing more in that speech is likely to be said before this unpunctual chuvak Peter shows up. In such a case, тут is the only option, and здесь is very seldom used. By the same token, we use тут even when we are talking about time, a dimension of space invented by us human’s mind, for example, ‘тут-же’ can mean ‘then and there’. This being said, there was originally a huge difference between тут and здесь in the past, people use and only use тут to refer spatial points in a constructed space, like a speech, a map or a picture; while using здесь to refer spatial points in actual space, like a room, a yard or a street.

@j3ffn4v4rr0
@j3ffn4v4rr0 Жыл бұрын
yes! вот is often used to call attention to something like "check it out!" so "behold" is a great translation....I've discovered there often are very outdated or archaic English forms that match very well to Russian, like thee/thou/you.

Can you make a video about how to sound more like a native, so people would understand what am i trying to say(
@njuvanrui2951
@njuvanrui2951 5 жыл бұрын
If you want to sound like a native, Russian is not the language you want to learn, it's not going to make you sound like a native. You can try Ket, Nenets, Mansi, Kabardian or Itelmen, among so many others. Ket is the most recommended since it sounds very much like Navajo and is even related to Navajo. I miss those good old days one can just speak English and show up saying 'Of course I was born in Georgia.' and suddenly no one mess up with ya...
