Sounds good to me. Imagine a future parliament where Reform and SDP are the top two parties. This is how we make the country great again. Good luck SDP!

I like the sound of that. If between them they can also abolish fptp we can have a range of new parties for a new era.

I am not actually a fan of proportional representation. I think this would play into the hands of those that want to divide us along cultural and religious lines. Direct democracy, like they have in Switzerland would be much better for the United Kingdom.

@@youaintseenme fair point. However when people bring up the “divide us on ethnic/religious” line I always think, well it’s too late for that. The policies of previous governments are what has caused the divisions by creating a pluralistic competitive diversified society that we all have to live in. Now these groups are here, pretending they are all going to sing off the same hymn sheet is unrealistic. However, I get that PR gives the fringes of politics more of a say than in other systems but personally I think that’s on balance a good thing. Excluding people from the political discourse has already created lots of problems up to this point.

Most of Europe uses PR, so I guess we can look there to see what works and what doesn't and whether it would be in the best interest of the United Kingdom.

AV would be better but PR is better than what we have now
