@@galadis123 It sounds like this, but I think these are just vocalizations of prawns, a head detached from body can't scream, it doesn't have means to pump air through mouth. His vocal cords would probably be torn apart too. Maybe it's editing fail, some voice-actor's sound got into the movie without audio-filters?

The Prawns recognized that Wickus used to help them and even saved the life of one of there kind. Also recognizing that Wickus was now an honorable member of there society so they just returned the favor and helped him out by having a light snack. BIG thumbs up to the Prawns in my view 🦐👍

What I really love about this scene is that Koobus' anti-prawn prejudice is ultimately the reason for his death. If he had just shot Wikus on sight and then ran, he probably would have gotten away unscathed, but he had to take the time to deliver his "the reason you suck" speech first. He never expected the prawns to attack him, the big bad MNU mercenary; to him, prawns were just livestock to use for target practice, not sapient beings who might be just a little upset with him given how many of them he'd killed. He let his guard down because he assumed he was untouchable, and it ended up getting him eaten by prawns. In the end, he was no better than cat food.

I actually rooted for the humans. I liked the alien characters and felt for the prawns because of the shitty situation they were dealt...but the prawns needed to be moved because of the issues that they caused to the locals. And while what MNU was terrible and greedy in how they handled this situation the unlocking of alien technology would’ve been a massive boon to humanity. Also MNU had a cool aesthetic.

Prawns remind me of ants, like their apparent caste system, and ants can lift like 10 to 50 times their bodyweight. Like crocodiles and hippos and gorillas have that massive crush strength. Add anger and adrenaline, oh shit.

Also, each scene progression his eye turns more and more prawn like. When he enters the mech, it's somewhat yellow. When he drives it, it is mostly yellow. When he gets ejected, it's bigger, and mostly prawned.

My favourite scene with Koobus was actually at the beginning of the film when Vikkus tries to score some points for the camera and questions the ammunition allocation of the MNU Security Forces and Koobus comes in enraged, instantly out of patience for this pencil pusher. He grabs Vikkus and says, "listen to me you fuck!" before the camera cuts LOL

Throughout the whole movie his mutation towards a prawn has been oscillating both graciously between being his cause of misery to his saving grace from being chased to dissect and experiment as a unique chance guinea pig to allowing him to control xeno technology for saving him to being hunted to be chopped into parts to ritualistic consumption to be recognised by other prawns as a member of their species and being saved at the final duel Truly brings into concept that every curse is a blessing under other eyes and the opposite

This scene really lets you know how much of a threat the prawns were and why they didn't integrate into human society. Humans were lucky they were aimless and didn't organize themselves to take advantage of their superior weaponry and strength.

And they didn’t integrate because as explained in the beginning, the majority of them are aimless drones with no initiative. Only a couple of them were leaders, apparently not nearly enough for the whole swarm.

Though it gives me chills, brutal death like that is what I look for it gruesome movies. It's never been about the blood, it's about hey they die. Movie directors ideas for deaths and aliens always intrigue me. I always want to see how a directors mind works based off of their idea of someone getting killed, and what they can come up woth for an alien design

Probably all of it, though judging by where the prawn bit, it likely went for his eyes or maybe part of his face before repositioning it to eat at the neck. Basically anywhere soft like most animals naturally would. If he still had eyesight, he'd basically see himself being thrashed around like a GoPro in a dog's mouth, but unable to do anything about it.

If you didnt know, the Halo Landfall trailer for Halo 3 was also done by Neill Blomkamp. It was originally supposed to be a full halo movie but Blomkamp decided not to and went on to make District 9 instead
