Easily one of the funniest Star Trek moments ever. I love how the humor keeps building throughout the scene, even when it cuts away from The Doctor to Chakotay and Harry. Learning that Janeway ordered Chakotay to take the ship in yellow alert thirty minutes into The Doctor's presentation is just so hilarious.
@greencello599
@greencello599 Жыл бұрын
Janeway may be the captain, but she had no grounds for the Yellow Alert after half an hour. She didn't give Chakotay, Kim, or the others who experienced the Doctor's holographic image essay the same courtesy. If the first round of crew members suffered through 2 hours of that, EVERYONE must suffer the exact same amount of time.

This reminds me of the Next Gen episode when the crew were trying to get out of attending some reception. Picard grants it to Worf, but when Geordi tries to ask, he says "Mr. La Forge, I cannot excuse my entire senior staff! Mr. Worf beat you to it." 😂

it also depends on how many times he told the story before giving a presentation. if you hear the same thing over and over again then are expected to sit though a presentation with the same information. it gets dull. plus when it's just an ego trip no one wants to hear about it. this wasn't presenting facts it was just him gloating and boasting.

Why are starfleet ships not comprised solely of holodecks, with holo-crews running them?
@HotaruZoku
@HotaruZoku 7 жыл бұрын
This is why no future will ever be perfect. This guy has a presentation to make, and utilizes the holodeck, gear any number of people alive now would literally give a finger or toe to make ubiquitous, in a way mirroring tech from the 1940's. I mean...really Doc. I get that your a hologram, but I KNOW that doesn't mean you lack creativity. We've all SEEN that little fantasy of yours on the bridge. Well done, btw. Now try applying that imagination to your next presentation. You know. The next time you, as the only pers...being....on the ship that can do more medically than CPR or trigger a hypostim, beams down to a planet (Do holograms "beam"?) and retrieve something. Which happens all the time in the general duties of an EMH. At least on Voyager.
@Xylarxcode
@Xylarxcode 3 жыл бұрын
No, holograms do not beam. They need holo emitters to function. If those are present, you can just activate the hologram program at that location. If they are not, then that hologram cannot go there. Doc is an exception because he's got the mobile emitter, which allows him to go anywhere and that thing CAN be beamed over.
