Remember, only 1 is needed. 2 did not make it sound better. I found best results at the router. 👍🎼✨

Paul, I just put it in yesterday. I could hear some difference right away but when I started listening this morning the difference was dramatic. Much more relaxed and natural!! I just put a pair of Focal Kanta No. 2 into my system a couple of weeks ago and was struggling with the sound being overly forward, sometimes electric guitar licks would send a beam of ringing and upper piano keys were too thin and extremely artificial sounding. This little dongle has relinquished 95% of the issues. The speakers are still forward ( I think that is their nature ) but nothing over dramatic and crazy like it was. Thanks so much for the time you put in finding these little tweaks that help in the world of streaming.

Absolutely! I can tell you that your speakers are on my wish list. I used sell focal, and yes they can be forward sounding, but the Kanta was the exception. It's sooo good! If you just bought them, they will need 200hrs of playing time, and the Ifi dongle as well. Burn in is a real thing! In all my Ifi products, I notice that they really get Timbres right. Stuff just sounds so natural. Well it looks to me like your system is just going to get better sounding from here. Thanks for watching always, Robert! 👍🎼💯✨

Thank you for reviewing this device. I am very impressed with this LAN silencer. In my systems (TEAC NT505 streamer). Bass reproduction improved, improved 3d sound stage and I am hearing "new" details. Really enjoying my streamer given that I am mainly an analogue biased.

Hello, I also recently acquired the iSilencer lan that I connect to an Audiolab 6000N play streamer and I must admit that I am amazed at what this little box is capable of. The sound is like free, better outlined, more depth, more width, the brushing of the cymbal is just something barely believable of realism which makes the hairs of the arms shiver. For less than 90€ this thing is simply indispensable in audio and also in video. I lent it to a friend who listens to streaming music, he had trouble giving it back to me because it brought considerable changes to his listening.

I've got two of these and they made a difference for the better in my streaming setup for sure. I would say the difference is not quite as big as I noted when I switched to using a decent audiophile great network switch, nor was the impact quite as big as when I started using a USB conditioner, but for the money I think this is an excellent value tweak. If you have a good streamer setup, it is well worth looking at this along with network switches, power supplies, cables and USB conditioning - done right, you can make streaming match or exceed the quality of CD playback

so first off i want to say that there aren't a lot of videos on the Ifi Lan silencer but this is by far the most informative one i have seen. I didn't want to go the fiber route as that solution requires 2 boxes which means i would have 2 more noisy switching power supplies in my system and to me it defeats the purpose of the fiber. My system Modem and router are in my basement and my audio equipment is on the firstt floor. The only way I can get internet there is wireless or moca which I have setup and is way better than wireless. I wasnt sure if the IFI would work the same on the back of my router so I plugged it into my Bluesound Node 2i. At first I noticed the changes but realized that i had the same result as you - a very bright stringent sound. I unplugged it and replugged it into my moca adapter - a little better but not an improvement and noticed a reduction in dynamics as others had stated. I decided to throw it on the back of my router which has much more traffic to break it in but I didn't think i would hear anything back through my moca setup. I turned off my system and came back the next day running it overnight. After now 2 days I am experiencing great separation and very clear highs and the dynamics are starting to improve . If it doesn't get any better i am happy but like you said it should burn in for a few weeks. So my suggestion is to place this device as far away from your streamer or PC as possible and closer to your internet source such as your modem or router. I have one router and no fancy audiophile switches on my system and it sounds fantastic! Thanks so much for a very good video!

Just as I explained in my video. I wish it sounded as good on my DAC/streamer, or better the more you add to the network, but alas, only one on the back of the router is heaven. Thanks for watching...from one Paul to another! 👊🎼✨

Hai man, I bought this thing after watching your video, doesn't cost much anyway. Was VERY skeptical since I have a high end streamer. The change was immediate. It is clear and clean and tight as you said. Maybe it will change to be more organic at some point like you experienced, but its already a nice upgrade and the best low cost upgrade so far for me. Thanks man.

Ok I've had this little guy in and out of my system the last 2½ weeks. Connected to the back of my transport with an Audioquest Cinnamon ethernet cable. The main difference I consistently heard between it being in versus out was in the upper regions. My system is pretty revealing and somewhat warm by design but I immediately notice a more settling down in the upper ranges but not so much where its dead. Just kinda takes the edges off. Dampened some of the crispness in my case. I didn't notice those edges existed until screwing with this device. Mids, mid-bass, lower end, and all the other adjectives are still beautiful with or without the ifi. Like most have described, it settles things down BUT I can also see how some wouldn't like it. Depending on your system, room acoustics, ear, etc etc, some would say it killed my sound. For me, I actually prefer the edginess in some music so I could see myself enjoying my system with or without it. So yes it does change the sound but everyone will have to decide if that change is what you can/will enjoy in your system all the time.

Great feedback! With mine in, the Timbres were much more lifelike and natural. Without it, the system goes back to sounding digital. But that's going out the router into a switch. Placement has a dramatic effect I've found out as well. I hope it just keeps getting better for you Everette! 👍💯🎼✨

I bought three of these devices, plugged them in at the routers, and let me tell you this, they work. I have not even gotten to my audio gear, I am still on the video streaming boxes. Everything is improved, especially my internet speeds. There was a bit of a lag in the internet, that is gone, and the speed of page loads is now nearly instant. The video streaming is faster in regards to changing channels and load times, along with a touch better PQ. For $89, what do you have to lose? I am keeping these. On edit: I have both Verizon and Xfinity ISPs in my house, so I needed two of these ifi units. I am going to play around with the third one I purchased and see what happens. ;-)

Right on! I just put in an upgraded pangea ethernet cable, and had a nice gain all around. Also ordered 2 synergistic research purple fuses for the streamer dac and intergrated amp. Thought I was done, but will have to get one of these on order right away. Thanks for taking the time to give your impressions and bringing awareness of such products! May I also suggest maybe trying Bybee qse passive pads. They work well on my two boxes when set on the power chord and box (amp, streamer) They recommend under equipment, which is not not as effective in my experience. Probably a comparable gain to what you achieved with the ifi. Cheers

My router has 3 outputs. I run a Ethernet wire to my TV & another port to my Streamer. I first tried it connected to the back of my streamer. It tightens up the soundstage and imaging in a good way..slight hint of more clean decay on cymbals. Bass seems tighter & a little more focused but also a hair softer..less dynamic. I hope it will improve with burn in and change in that aspect..only had it a day now. Not sure if that compromise is worth it to me..maybe it is. Tried it into the back of my TV. Definitely an improvement. Made my TV seem more colorful..but not sure why/how it would do that. Since I use 2 outputs on my router I tried the ILAN on the input to my router..not as noticable a difference. I'll see if the ILAN improves over the next couple weeks..if so I'll probably get another one for the TV..the one for the streamer. Although I'm thinking of trying a Switch and LPS after experiencing what I have with the ILAN. I didn't get any detrimental effects no matter where I put it. Would be nice if 2 weeks from now it all of a sudden transforms to something better. Nice review..thanks.

Do you (or any of your subscribers) have experience with this compared to a FMC (Fiber Media Converter) set (like the "10GTek Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter")? In case you're not familiar (like I was before), this uses 2 devices where 1 converts a LAN cable to fiber (removing any noise), which then goes to the 2nd device (with a clean lineair power supply) that converts it back to LAN (which then feeds a noise free signal into your DAC). A set like this incl cables usually costs you about 100 eur (incl cheap LPS). So curious how these 2 options compare, if you need both or if they both do the same?

I dont know if anyone has asked this yet, but I have a wifi extender in my room that i have a cat 8 ethernet cable coming out to my wiim streamer. Is it better to use this at the streamer or at the extender? Obviously I can just try both to see, but i was just wondering what your thoughts were. I love your channel!! Every video is refreshing and your take on audiophile topics and equipment upgrades are very appreciated. Oh.....I just thought of another question lol. Actually more of an epiphany lol, but I just purchased a Sony hap-z1es. Im going to be ripping my cd collection to it and be getting online music files to load onto it. Now since that also runs off of either Wifi or Ethernet, would it behoove me to place the ifi unit at the extender then have the Ethernet cable go to a usb hub then connect both the Wiim and the Sony unit to it. I have an inexpensive Ethernet switch too so im unsure if i should be using the Startech Usb hub or the cheap Ethernet switch. Sorry for all the questions, but I very much value your opinion. A few questions: - You found 2 did something good and then at the end, 2 wasn't recommended? - If you have a modem and a router, would you just plug one of these into the WAN port on the modem going to the router? Or would you have to plug one into each of the LAN ports on the router?

No, only use 1. Just give it time to burn in over a couple weeks. Taking it in and out to A/B doesn't hurt anything. This device goes anywhere in the line. I found plugging it directly into the router worked best, since that is the source going into the wall and through the switch. Hope that helps! 👍💯🎼✨

@@vpconcepts9838 I see. It looks like you have a cable gateway on your desk and you connected the Lan Ipurifier on LAN 1, which goes to your switch trough the wall? Why not plug it into the switch WAN port instead? Maybe because having it at the starting point in the system is better than having it at the last component?

Hi and thanks for a great video. I just got one and can hear the improvement right away but looking forward to hear further improvements when it's burned in. With this on my router, will I still benefit from a better psu for the router? I'm experimenting with a ifi elite on the router but it's still too early to tell if it's an improvement. As it is right now, I kind of like the sound when using the generic psu on the router. Best regards Steffen
