United Airlines never operated the Convair 240. The aircraft is a Convair 340.

Skynyrd's Convair model?
@boblackey1 Жыл бұрын
The Skynyrd plane was similar. It was a Convair CV-240 built in 1948. The airplane had two Pratt and Whitney R2800 CB-16 piston engines. These engines were widely used on a variety of aircraft from the late 1930's through 1960. On the Skynyrd plane there was a malfunction on the right engine which caused the plane to burn gasoline faster than normal resulting in the craft running out resulting in the crash.
