With this new metering device and the metal needle can you eliminate turning off the fuel tap when finished with mowing

Yes, I could say I can eliminate turning off the fuel tap when I know the optimum parts I use. With only the metering lever and metal needle combined with other aftermaket parts, you rely on the fix alone without turning off the fuel tap. In the past, we can guarantee that you can eliminate the fuel tap when we have all the supplied parts, but now we don't have the float. The manufacturing tooling was damaged. Our metering lever also won't with other aftermaket metal needle. It will cause more flooding than fixing. Thanks for watching our videos. Cheers, VARIETECH

does this issue happen to victa brand needles?
@Varietech-AU
@Varietech-AU Жыл бұрын
No, this issue doesn't happen on Victa brand plastic needle, only on the rubber tip metal needle especially when used with aftermarket primer cap. Our early version of the primer cap, there are few had sticking needle issue due to burr on the seat. This burr had been fixed on our new improved primer cap. The plastic needle cannot seal the valve completely and will tends to overflow the carburetor and leak fuel through the primer pump/bulb and floods the carby. To completely stop this overflowing, we developed a rubber tip metal needle to address this issue which can seal the valve completely. The metering lever will only works on rubber metal needle. Please note our metering lever will work best on our supplied float, and when using the genuine Victa float and other aftermarket float, it requires careful adjustment of the metering lever tab. This metering lever won't work on plastic needle. Thanks for asking and watching our videos. Cheers, VARIETECH

I have just ordered a needle and one of the levers. My problems is a little different; I have an older Power Torque, 86 Mustang. It starts ok after a few pulls, however after a while it begins surging wildly into huge revs when in the run position, and it takes a while even when pulling the throttle back to idle, or off, to settle back down. I have changed the crankcase ring, the carby ring, both manifold rings, the exhaust port is not blocked, I cannot find airleaks in the snorkel hose, I use fresh fuel and good quality oil at a 40:1 ratio (ratio on bottle is 50:1), but I cannot seem to stop this surging over revving. I will try out your needle and lever, but what other things should I look at?

I really like to sell our metering lever and needle but I just want to be honest, your surging problem is not due to the needle or metering lever. You can replace them but only to guarantee the carby won't flood and won't leak fuel through the primer and it always keep the carby dry and easy to start. Surging is mainly blockage on the governor vacuum air venturi on the base of the mower. This air vent is connected to the carburetor diaphragm cap with 15cm 8mm hose. Let me know how's you go. @@Varietech-AU I see. This is the black plug hole down on the housing with the fly wheel behind it? With the hose coming from it to the carby? Would I need to shove some wire through it perhaps? Clean out the hole? Or is it more complicated than that?
@Varietech-AU

@@greggregson9687 you can clean it with wire, then spray with carby cleaner on both sides and also from behind the blade or flywheel.

@@Varietech-AU Just letting you know; I cleaned out the venturi area using your method. I also installed the needle, cap and lever. The mower now starts first time, every time, and the engine is running perfectly now. I might think about changing the rings one day, but as it is still running so well after 37 years, I will leave it for now. Thank you for your great videos, assistance here in the comments, and your great little inventions. I will be picking up some more of your needle/cap/lever combos for my other two Victas soon (2016 Mustang, and 1980 Vc160 Corvette) .
