Hi, My old Commando backfires terribly when it’s being shut down do you know how to fix it

been trying to troubleshoot one revving its head off about to take off like a heli, done carby + seals, cleaned decompressor, it almost sounds like its starved of air because when i take the hose off air filter revs come down a bit, would a warped primer cap cause over revving?

If your like me it's I'll get around to that job when the needle won't stop the fuel, bad when it pees out the plunger, so you have to turn on the fuel tap and start it straight away, if it's flooded you have to turn off the fuel and pull and pull and pull until it starts but remember to turn on the fuel tap again once it starts, I didn't say I'm lazy just have no time to do things sometimes, even so minor ones, maybe I'll fix it later as it would of been fix via now writing this comment.
