Dynasty Discolite (Personal Disco Component) aka KING of Boomboxes.
From SKITRONIC LTD.
This ghettoblaster was featured in Maddona's "Hung Up" and Lady GaGa's "Just Dance".
I will make the video how I restored it later.
Sold on November 10 to young movie director.

You can imagine my shock when I found someone had discarded this boom box like a used Kleenex, one day while I was out driving. I had to pick the beast up and give it a new home. I'm currently having some issues that I'm trying to sort out. The first problem with these boxes seems to be the "ON/OFF SLEEP Switch" I had to actually unsolder the switch from the board because I was getting intermediate power. The switch is a pretty simple design in itself just two copper tracks the slide back and forth when pushed but can became dirty and loosened from repeated pushing. The other issues are a unwound tuner/radio string that a simple photo that someone might have may help solve that issue as to how it winds up. The last issue is the function switch. When I switch to cassette/tape it makes this awful buzzing noise that I need to sort out as well.

Hi, Romaro, you have a lot of work for restoring this finding, but it will be super fun journey for you!! Clean the switch with contact cleaner first to see how the noise change. Have a good time! Teddy

I have the same problem and I don't know what to do but I hope doing that fixes it I also don't know anything about restoring or repairing radios or stereos

I had a question about these Discolite boomboxes. On the back there is a switch that allows you to select Beat 1 or Beat 2. What is the difference between the two settings?

Good question. And I tested it but not so sure for what for it. I did not hear any difference as sound wise. We should research it!!

@@teddyhashee Thank you for the answer. I have one of these Disco Lite boomboxes too (sold under the Clip Sonic brand name) and I also could not tell the difference between Beat 1 and Beat 2. I was hoping that someone with better hearing or better eyesight than me would be able to tell the difference between the two different settings.

80s boomboxes are weak compared to the ones of the 90s. i bought a brand new conion c100f back in '84, loud and flashy but lacked the bass technology. i now have a '98 jvc kaboom with dual subwoofers with so much bass it rattles my windows.
