80's Fisher SC-300 Keyboard Boombox

6 жыл бұрынThis is a 80's Fisher SC-300 Keyboard Boombox. The radio and keyboard were OK, but the tape deck did not work at all. After opening the body, I found that one of the main drive belt was melted away. So I replaced all drive belts, clean the head, demagnetize the heads and around, and did speed adjustment. Finally the cassette player starts working well. The mini keyboard was fun to play. Here is a link for the ad from 80's.

Thank you for your immediate response. Well like the Technics Cassette Deck RS TR575 wherein the eject mechanism seem to be not working. I tried to fix it but it just became worst. So what I did is I just left the tape inside & never to replaced it anymore. Sad to say...But it's still playing. Anyways thank you for asking. Your channel is really educational / intellectual I may say & it's really worth watching for audio gadget enthusiasts. Keep it up! Have a great day!

Probably something ( cracked parts or something ) is stuck in the middle of ejecting mechanism. If you did recording right before the problem occurred, maybe the small moving parts that will detect the blank cassette did not set back to the original position to release the cassette. I hope you will be able to remove the cassette and free the ejecting system by your own in the future. Thank you for your replay! Teddy

Teddy, I have never seen anything like this. Very different. One thing I would like to know is: Can you put in a blank cassette and record what you play on the keyboard? That would be pretty cool. Thanks for sharing this unique restoration.

Nice Video! I just picked up a Fisher PH463 Boombox Today at a thrift store. Sadly the Tape decks don't work even the doors don't open, but I do hear something spinning on the inside of the deck. It looks like you did some repairs on yours. Do you by chance have any Idea what could be wrong with mine. The AM and FM work perfectly and sound great though. Thanks

@@teddyhashee Obviously it can't have been too popular outside USA - because there weren't many sold in Australia with a keyboard. We did have keyboards, yes, but not as part of a boombox.

Fisher probably outsourced the keyboard portion to Casio. It looks and sounds identical to the Casio PT-30 from that era, aside from the color and printing.

Buen dia, te felicito por tu buen trabajo de restauración y mantenimiento de estas bellezas de aparatos que fueron hechas para durar, tengo una de estas en color negro que era de mi mama y tocaba muy bien, el caso es que la deje en casa de mi mama y cuando regrese razón estaba mal , aquí la tengo en mi casa guardada en partes para restaurarla, le faltan piezas pero en fin es un buen recuerdo de aquellos años, una pregunta, que aparato es y para que sirve el que le acercaste a la cabeza de la cassettera , tengo un mínimo componente JVC de los 80's gris con su tornamesa o tocadiscos de la misma marca, no recuerdo el modelo pero ese si esta muy deteriorado, lo deje en casa de mi mama y mi hermano se le ocurrió dejarlo en la azotea en tiempos de lluvia y la verdad me dio mucha trizteza verlo, en fin con tiempo y paciencia se podrá rescatar. Saludos desde Oaxaca,México.

The app called Tuner T1 that will use for tuning guitar or other music gear. With a-440 hz tone tape, what I did was adjusted the motor speed.
