Internet edgelords gets mad at literally everything. Even the nicest person can get overwhelming hate for no freaking reason

I have a friend who has a ravenous hatred for vtubers. Not any of the girls specifically, but the market in general. He finds the dolllike models unsettling and uncanny valley-ish and he doesn't like that the market, in his view, is designed to exploit desperate people and create false hopes through fanservice and "the girlfriend experience". Most of all he hates that the KZfaq algorithm seems to strongly associate "liking vtubers" with "liking anime in general" so despite his absolute lack of interest in vtubers overall, KZfaq keeps shoving vtuber content down his throat, filling his recommendations with it at the expense of content he actually wants to see. And overall, even as a fan of vtubers myself, I feel like his reasons for disliking the market are not exactly invalid. I don't think you'd find him on a page like this, though. This place feels less like it's about genuine complaints and more like a circlejerk where people take solace in having something to hate together.

@@justrigelswag6918 It's always been true and others, such as Towa, have already suffered over it. Rushia just showed us the full extent of how bad it gets. Honestly, her story is the perfect cautionary tale about both the power and the price of the double-edged sword that is the GFE. Rushia was one of the top peddlers of that fantasy in Hololive, being all too eager to play into the clingy girlfriend archetype, and that made her one of the top superchat earners in the world if not *the* top of the top. But then at the slightest misstep everything came crashing down on her. As sad as I am for her, it feels like she had been unknowingly digging her own grave (how ironic for a necromancer) long before the incident even started.
