This series really breaks it down well. I will be replacing my stator and voltage regulator tomorrow so this should save me a ton off heartache. Thanks!

Red is the recommended lock tight for the compensator. If you have problems removing it then use heat.

@dustdeviltc88 - Thank you for taking the time to share your comment. It's great to hear feedback and I am very glad I could help you out. Sometimes all we need is someone to take the time to "show us" how it's done. And now you have the confidence to move forward and do it yourself. Thank you again, Scott V-TwinOnline . com

@ Suzuki copper - your comment received follow up, so I looked it up to verify. Page 6-10 of service manual: INSTALLATION: Step 2. Apply two drops of Loctite 262 (red) to the threads of the mainshaft nut (1) Again, thank you for the comments. Scott

Found your videos extremely useful when putting an EFM Auto Clutch on my 94 Road King. But I couldn't torque the clutch nut up. Couple of questions.... How did you lock the rear wheel? My torque wrench just wouldn't seem to click and I am wondering if it was because of movement in the transmission shaft. All done now though and riding. Cheers,

Ric, put your sled in 5th gear then, stand on your rear brake peal, then... take your motorcycle tie down strap, and wrap it tightly around your rear brake pedal. Problem solved ;-) Thank you for your comment. Hope this helps. Scott VTwinOnline.com

I have a question on a problem I had. New clutch kit in. Adjusted primary clutch adjustment. Adjusted clutch cable. Tested clutch and it blew the the all the inner hub and sent the spring across the room. So what happened

Sounds like you may have missed a step,.or two, in the manual.

Hopefully you don't have to do the stator again, could be fun. I was told by my buddy who's been building engines for 30 years to use blue on everything except the bolts holding the inner to the motor/trans. The inner primary bolts are the only ones that should get red because if they come up, they fuck shit up right quick.

Wrong locking tool use the locking bar only you stretched the chain badly.

Strange that a chain can "stretch" with such little effort. Right? But if your manual says to use something else, then I agree... use what the manual calls for.
