in this video, I change the air filter in my 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic. Doing an air filter change is probably the easiest maintenance you can do to your bike; once you find the right side of the bike.

I'm glad you actually made the mistake of taking the right side cover off because I know nothing about bikes and I was wondering what was under there. I have the same bike and I thought I had 2 air filters lol. Thanks for the video it was helpful

I was so glad to see you didn't know what side the filter was on. It makes it so much easier to watch as I am no mechanic and hope to learn by watching . I enjoy your videos. Keep them coming.

As you know, I'm no mechanic either. Sometimes you have to screw up to learn something new. Thanks for watching and enjoying my videos.

Now I see what my face looked like when I pulled off the cover on the right side and saw NO filter. LOL! Your videos are really good Marc, and thank you for taking the time to make them. I have a 2003 1600 Vulcan Classic and so far everything is so similar that I can watch you then know what to do... and not to do. I am just farting around right now waiting for mine to cool down so I can drain the water and vinegar mix and put in the distilled water to basically rinse it out before I put in my antifreeze - silicate and borate free, of course, thanks again - and then I will put it all back together and pat myself on the back! Thanks again, Marc, and keep 'em coming.

Yeah, that should show everyone, I am not a mechanic. Most of the time I don't know exactly what to do, or how to do it. But I take a deep breath and give it a go. Thanks for your kind words and thanks for watching.

I literally checked my air filter this week and followed the same logic in looking for the filter. This video gave me a huge laugh as I knew that feeling when pulling the cover off the the right side 😮

I needed this video because I, too, took off the right cover. I thought the other side would be empty too and couldn't imagine where the air filter was.

Glad my video was helpful. It's fun to make mistakes like that. As long as your the type of person that can laugh at themselves. I know a lot of people that cannot do that. Instead they get mad and pissed off. It always baffles me. I mean, what's the point of being mad about it? Just chuckle about it and move on.

Ha! Same thing happened to me when I went to replace my filter on my 2002 Meanstreak. I was swearing I had no filter on the left side because mine also has the "big air cleaner" on the right.

@@ChefHikerBiker Haha yes sir. Now I just have the hassle of finding a replacement filter for the big air cleaner. But my left side one is good.

Watchign this again. Having issues getting my cover to see in the grooves around the case. I guess ill just try and push harder. Also why is your filter a half circle? My Mean Streak is a full circular filter. Weird.
@ChefHikerBiker3 ай бұрын
I don't know why the filters are different.

I have a 1600 too..I get water drips coming out of the air filter
@ChefHikerBiker4 жыл бұрын
I'm no mechanic, but I believe having a little water coming out is normal, but it could also be the first signs of your piston rings failing.
@user-qv2mg8ru1u Жыл бұрын
my 1600 sometimes acts like it is out of gas and pops through the intake. IT doesnt do this every time but when it does its a pain in the arse. Any ideas?
@ChefHikerBiker Жыл бұрын
Is your bike carburated or fuel-injected?
@user-qv2mg8ru1u Жыл бұрын
injection. It is an intermittent problem. not every ride...i was wondering if it could be moisture or trash in the gas. seems to happen at at 1/2 tank but could just be me looking for a pattern
@ChefHikerBiker Жыл бұрын
Those could be causes. Your fuel pump might be going too. I suggest taking to your mechanic and see what they find.

I cant believe the air filter isn't falling apart after 12 years. I have seen them stick and tear to pieces when you pull them off.
@ChefHikerBiker4 жыл бұрын
The filter is a K&N. This modle is made to be used for years. You just need to take an air hose and blow it out every once in awhile.

I can't believe the Kawasaki was too stupid to put something in there to help you line that filter up it is really a nightmare trying to keep it in place and get the cover on the designer of that should be fired immediately
