I have a 2007 which has the color scheme opposite of yours, silver on the side and black on top. I bought mine used in 2014 with 12,000 miles. Today, still running strong at 124,400 miles. Great bike.

I bought my Kawasaki vn900 feb of 2010...it is a 2009 model...Love this bike....It goes thru tires pretty fast, but we ride 2-up a lot, plenty of power, unbelievable engine, although I would love to have one more gear...at 70-90 it sure purrs...getting about 42 miles per gallon...but who cares...I did not buy it to save gas...just my sanity, LOL. You cannot go wrong with this motorcycle, as you can tell, I am raving about it...and I have had a few in my 65 years...this will be my last one...it's all the bike you will ever need for most 99 percent applications. I have over 32,000 miles, and only replaced the stator..(electrical part, like an alternator for a car)..and on my 3rd set of tires...average about ten to 12,000 miles each...but..as I said, we ride 2 up a lot. Change the oil, keep the bike inside if you can...wipe it off when you get done, wipe it off before you get on, and if you don't look back when you hop off the seat...you got the wrong bike! This is a beauty.

Solve the gear problem with the Baron pulleys. Works great.
@Daniel-tj6mc5 жыл бұрын
@@corneilcorneil I've been looking at a 900 and keep hearing about these pulleys. Any chance you can shed some light on the subject?
@corneilcorneil5 жыл бұрын
@@Daniel-tj6mc, you can check the Baron website for your delivery in country. The front pulley is 2 tooth larger, the rear ... when i remember it correct, 3 tooth smaller. It makes that you change the end transmission ratio end your gears become much "longer" and more comfortable. The stock setup feels like a offroad gearbox for me. You can still use the original belt. I changed the rear pulley when it was time to change the rear tire to avoid extra work. Please mark the position of your rear axl. The marks on the bridge are not that correct, left and right give a different reading when you put the wheel 100% straight. (My personal experiance). Speedometer will be not longer "correct". When i ride 100km/h on speedo, gps shows 109km/h. Rear pulley can make a squeaking noise when the belt touch the pulley side. I solved that problem with candle wax and the belt "moved" to the middle by itself. My weight is 80kg, and use this pulleys for 2 years now, for me, they are perfect. When you ride permanent with 2 persons, i guess the take off will be a bit more difficult. Sorry for my basic English 😜

Beautiful bike. I looked at the Kawasaki Vulcans before I bought my Suzuki C50T. I am considering the Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero when I move up. I love the look of the Vaqueros. I put Cobra slash cut pipes on my Suzuki along with their fuel tuner and I love the way they sound. The other great mods I did on mine was adding the front driving lights and the Mustang seat. Ride safe!

Thanks for sharing! I just purchased a mate to your 2016. Same all the way down the line including the color. I was curious if you have thought about lowering the windshield or if it has been a problem. I am debating whether to get the vulcan s 650 or the vulcan 900 classic. Thanks for the insight on the videos you posted about this bike. I have the same problem around town too. I live here as well, and I have noticed the on ramp lights, when traffic is heavy, rarely pick up my bike so I just usually go thru them after the car ahead of me goes. Some street lights don't react too like you said and those I usually just go right, then make a left hand U'ey. 42 MPG huh? that's nice. I ride a vulcan 500 right now and get about 48 mpg around town and highway. Love my bike but want to move up now. I'm 5'6" so I need a bike I can handle, would you say a smaller rider could handle the vulcan 900? from start/stop riding to low speed cornering? Thanks for the vids, keep it up.

An hour into a ride, the stock seat on my 2014 900 Classic was not enjoyable. I went the Mustang route and 1700 miles over 5 days had no tail bone or back issues. However, the Mustang seat is about an inch higher which messed up reach to the bar causing shoulder and neck pain. Putting 10" apes on the bike to raise reach to the bar.

i have the 900 custom special model here in the uk To be honest i just don't go much above 65mph thats only because i don't like the wind on any bike beyond that. For longer distances I stick to 55-60 and avoid freeways as they are such boring roads. Perhaps that's because being retired I've got loads of time to spare. I find the primary gear drive a tad noisy on overrun compared to duplex chains but nothing bad Kwakas are as with all Japanese bikes super reliable and the LC engine is very flexible pulling right down even in top. I understand the saddle problem as you're stuck in one position I last about 2 hours then stop and take a break

Looks like a great bike. And, the best referrals are that their owners love these motorcycles. But for those who tour in the mountains or who ride in cool/cold weather both heated grips and the ability to add heated jackets/gloves for the rider and pillion are necessary. With only 70w of excess power...that's not going to happen. One other thing that disqualifies this bike for me is that I tour out west where things are really spread out. Having a tubed tire that can't be easily fixed on the road takes this one out of contention.

I'm new to bikes. What purpose does a high way bar serve ?
@racerpeters7 жыл бұрын
Darth Yoshiii Fact: They provide a place to put pegs or lights. Fact: They will prevent plenty of damage if you drop your bike at slow speeds or 'forget to put the kickstand down' or if your bike is knocked over while parked. Fact: With chaps on them, they'll keep your feet a lot warmer in cold weather (windblocks). Questionable: They will provide you protection during an actual lay-down of a bike at significant speed. You can do the research here -- many people's legs have been saved by them and many people's legs have been damaged by them...

Thank you for a great review, and comments below help a lot with deciding.One thing though....Not judging, but damn, 80MPH in a t-shirt. You do know its game over if you flip over or get flipped over without proper protection.Remember that no matter how good of a driver you are, you can assume that everyone on the road are idiots :)

John Doe yes I agree and while I am wearing a t-shirt what cannot be seen by the camera is the thick leather vest I always wear and helmet ,gloves, and boots I however would wear a full leather jacket but as of now have not found one that I can wear in 100+ temperature if anyone has one they could recommend please post me a link
@JohnDoe-bd5sz7 жыл бұрын
I dont have an answer for your problem with heat but i can totally relate, i am a motorcycle rider myself and even though temperatures here rarely go above 70, i know how hot it gets just standing at a red light for 1 minute. Have you considered a jacket NOT made from leather ? Maybe they will be more breatable.I actually just bought a VN900 and am awaiting delivery in a few days, i absolutely love the way it sounds and feels.
@roadboat92166 жыл бұрын
.I have been riding all summer with a Joe rocket Phoenix mesh jacket. I live in eastern NC. The heat index over 130 deg! 95 to 105 with high humidity. As long as I’m moving it’s fine. Ok if just stopped at a light. Has elbow, shoulder, and spine pads. Has removable liner and removable vest. So great for all but serious winter.

how in the world do you get 42mpg??? thats crazy i get 24mpg! it sucks, but i do have cobra pipes and a power commander. it sounds good but i miss hearing the engine whine. its super comfortable and i love it. i love the Kawasaki's. ill be after the Vaquero very soon. new subscriber. make more vlogs!
@scottwheaton9689 Жыл бұрын
The reason your getting terrible 25mpg is you have the power commander calibrated way too frigging rich even gir aftermarket pipes. Even properly tuned a bit richer for new pipes it should be getting a min of 40mpg & ridden properly stock they can get 45-50mpg cruising 58-60mph in top/5gear.

@ST0RMBRINGR7 жыл бұрын
Darth Yoshiii - Just saw your post and felt compelled to reply. I'm 54 and started riding last year. This bike is awesome but to answer your question about being a good first bike.... well, that all depends on YOU and what you intend to do with the bike. First off, take an MSF rider course. It's an intensive hands on training over two days that teaches you the basics of riding. After completing the course you've got to practice in an empty parking lot doing low speed maneuvers. Once you master those skills take the bike out around the neighborhood. Practice every day. And ride your ride. You'll know when your skills get better. First time on a highway can be intimidating. Just remember to ride like you are invisible to car drivers. You'll learn to anticipate a cars moves and direction. Be safe and keep the shiny side up!

I currently have a Vulcan 500. It might be a better bike to start with. Believe me, it’s not lacking in power. And with 6 gears good at hi-way speeds. I’m now ready to go to the 900. ( that’s why I’m look at this video. ( thanks for the informative video!). If your a big and reasonably strong guy. You might skip the 500. At 5’10 I find it tight after an hour. I think the 900 will be better for longer trips. Love the 500 otherwise. Plenty fast ( probably has a 0-60 similar to the 900 and many bigger bikes). The reason for starting with the 500 is that until you get your skills up, the 500 is more maneuverable and more forgiving. Especially if you get it a little off balance while slow or stopped. And yes the msf course is invaluable.

How can you stand that high rpm engine, mine make so much noise above 55 it don't enjoy it. at 52 to 55 it get good fuel mileage, at 75 it revs so high it is annoying. I've been riding Harley's my hole life. had my first panhead at 14 years old now i'm just about 70. But my 2019 classic is good until 55 after that it sucks. i Bought it for a 8000 mile bike trip but that piece of high RPM junk isnt going anywhere. My HD has 120,000 miles on it so now i have 3 weeks to rebuild it and paint for the trip. Why would anyone build a bike that has to turn 4500 RPMs to go 75 with r freeway speed here inn america. MY question to u is my bike gets 53 mpg at 55 at 75 what is yours getting?
@racerpeters4 жыл бұрын
Do the baron pulley mod just the front pulley the RPMs will decrease I've also changed out the exhaust and the air cleaner and put a fuel computer in it and had it dynoed so right now I sit somewhere around 40 mpg
@bullcrap3794 жыл бұрын
@@racerpeters thanks for the repley, question do u have fuel infection on your bike, i'm asking because the Kawasaki tech rep said you can't gear up the the bike with the fuel injection, because the computer will throw a code when the speed and rpms don't match the programming
