Thanks for your help. Suggestions: ...more time and slower movements with the parts and their location. You're beautiful and all but we're here for the car info:)

You can check these with an ohm meter I think most are 6 to 25ohms. And add voltage should see and hear it working.

About to do my second sets on someone else's Altima Jack the car up kid take off the passenger side Tire lay on the ground and look directly up from the harmonic balancer look up to the top of the motor and you can see your 10 mm bolts and the solenoid and wiring

Hey Greg this might sound like a dumb question but what made you change them what was the car doing ?.. I ask because i have 2013 Altima
@icebrakernh4 жыл бұрын
the car was idling rough and stalling out with lack of power. it took me jacking the car up on the passenger side and a 3.5 foot long extension 3/8 with a 10 mm socket to unbolt the solenoid then I had to climb up and pull it out. bank 1 on the 2014 is on the lower side of bank 2. the dealership wanted $700 to do a 45 minute job. I saved the money and did it myself. I then cleared the code with my scan tool and no problem ever since. now 3,000 miles later.

I would like to follow up with no question is a dumb question if you truly don't know the answer. I thank you for watching.

@@icebrakernh is bank 1 the one closer to the firewall or the one closer to the front end
@icebrakernh3 жыл бұрын
@@johnd0ugh bank 2 is just below bank 1 near the fire wall. The exhaust vvt is way down underneath the car you will have to go with a long extension to remove . Sadly for bank 2 you need to be under the car for bank 2

So….the 2.5L has only ONE VVT solenoid? Got a 2005 Frontier with "clicking" coming from my VVT when I press the throttle so I want to make sure before I make the trip to the parts store. Thx
@icebrakernh4 жыл бұрын
no, it has 2 banks for the intake on the 2014 and if I remember right the same for the exhaust.
@icebrakernh4 жыл бұрын
Make sure you use a scan tool to find out what bank it is.

@@icebrakernh would you happen to know which one is bank one? is the the closest to the firewall or the the one closest to the front bumper?
@icebrakernh2 жыл бұрын
@@johnd0ugh both 1 and 2 are closest to the fire wall. Bank one sits in a crazy tight spot just under bank 2. Bank 2 is easy it's right where you can see it easily towards the top of that section of the engine. Now the exhaust is another pain to get to its easy to remove but to plug it in takes time and a few cuss words before you can get it on there.

How many solenoids are there?

I do believe a total of 3 and they are all the same design.

@icebrakernh4 жыл бұрын
ok the intake vvt solenoids are close to each other near the firewall. Bank 2 is on the upper side bank 1 is just under bank 2. the exhaust vvt is near the front of the car. use a 3 to 4 foot extention to unbolt bank 1. 10 mm socket

what do you mean R&I?
@icebrakernh3 жыл бұрын
Next time I have one go out I will. Bank 1 and the exhaust are a tight spot to work with but you can get to them from underneath the car from behind the passenger side front tire
