I know a lot of people say endorsements are sell out but I really appreciate an honest review of a vendor. Especially with classic car parts, finding anything that isn’t a cheap Chinese knock off is a god sent prize. Look forward to reaching out to Pete on toys.

Be clear, I wasn’t trying to say anything negative about what your doing. I just think your being a little too critical of yourself when you describe your work. Just wanted to let you know, If you keep working as hard as you do the skills will come.

It's always a good idea to stir the 2k products before pouring as for they settle at the bottom, shaking alone doesn't always mix everything up. 1.4 is great for epoxy and single stage paints.. 1.6-2.0 is for thick primers/ surfacers.. Can't wait to see more progress, thanks for the uploads..

Oh also when you're ready to clear the exterior and want to preserve the rustic/ patina, there's a DTM 2k clear that you can put on it. You'll wanna add 50% universal flattening additive to get that natural look nobody like a shiny patina.. A midgrade that I like is by Green Tec/Lusid Technologies GTC625 is the clear coat and you can get universal flattening additive at Napa if it's the one that sells automotive paint.. otherwise that should be at your local paint supply shop.

Dear Reader, Well done, Sir. There seems to be an alternative for normal paint; powdercoating. You just hang all the parts on steel wires on a frame and connect them with a power adapter. Powder in a paint gun and the current guides all of the paint to the parts. No paint cans, no mess and an equal coverage. But it needs to be backed in an oven or with an infra red system. It seems to work a lot easier, but if that's true, no idea. Perhaps there is a sponsor out there willing to let you show his powder coating system at work? Oh yes, I do hope the Karmann Ghia is not abandoned and forgotten. With Kind Regards, Michel F. van den Brun Dutchman without a car

Dear Reader and@@chezsnailez Although a real car is of course of a different scale, the parts are perhaps not too large for the same method.

Next time onwards, whenever you pour paint from a bucket into the mixing cup, place 2 pieces of wide paper tape in the lip shaping a right angle so no drop of paint gets into the shell of the container. Also, use a reasonably big piece of food membrane and blow some compressed air to prevent paint from hardening when the pour is done

Without watching the end yet, I would think that paper towels would bleed thru during painting. I would use painting paper instead to mask. As a side note, I checked out that 3M paint system and almost stroked out at $570+ tax. I am enjoying your journey CT.

What I would be interested in knowing is the status of the transaxle ... all that work and paint into the transaxle ... wouldn't it be possible that it is blown or has a bad gear ?? Without going over it ... could be destine for failure

Just a little body damage on the front end but the body is as nice as I could find and I can’t wait to get it finished?

the winch lift outside the shop needs to have triangulation strength at the footing a 2 to 3 inch square tubing 4 feet away from post on the ground anchored and concrete bolts then connecting to 5 feet high to post one on each side opposite front and back or 4 triangles if you want extra strength from tipping collapse , lateral strength is also not there like a barn racking from left to right, to not attach a triangle in the inner bottom area to keep the winch free you need to make the top bream extension on each side past the post 3 to 4 feet on both left and right posts then attach a square tubing triangle at outer most part of upper new extended beam new connection to 5 feet lower post both sides otherwise it can rack on you and kill or mame you what ever your lifting, now its really safe this way, and not relying on the 3 inches of triangulation that it has which is unsafe currently, i hope you can understand this, a drawing would be easier to explain
