I am just today starting to watch the entire series. I am enjoying it. The pre-68 Buses are my favorite vehicles. I am looking for one now, like yours. Thank you for including every aspect of the disassembly. No one else does this and am learning a lot.

Just a thought...get a breaker bar and a cheater pipe for those stubborn nuts & bolts. Safer and cheaper than tearing the gears out of your ratchet. Soaking them down for a few days also helps with penetrating oil, PB Blaster or something like them. Thanks for sharing your build!

I miss my buses and wish I never sold them (over 10 years ago- 65 21 window, 65 pop-up camper and my favorite 57 kombi deluxe). They were fun to drive and easy to work on. Keep up the great work.

Also a pickle fork is not to pry with. You hit the end with a hammer and the tapered shape forces the parts loose.

I like how you do your video editing. Lots of people doing videos like this will show every second. This is great because you can still see every bolt and nut you take off and you don't waste any time in between. It's much easier to watch this way. Love it! Good luck!

Awesome work in the bus. Keep it up and don’t worry about the rusty part just do one part at it time. Tips if you want to re use the part and not buy new one you can take the rusty screw or anything and put in to a bucket that is fill with gallon of coke and then clean should help remove rusty off easy.

MicBergsma yes you can. I saw a video some dude put tool, bumper, and little screw or bolt and then came out nice. Might need brush to clean the the thread of the screw once you take it out. There video about you can take a look and see the process of it.

There is a guy in the Eastern U.S. who is a real expert on all things V.W. - His channel is "Mustie1" and you might get a kick out of talking with him and checking out his videos. He is really big on putting bar and chain oil under his cars and trucks to stop the salt and rusting process from destroying his vehicles.

wow great video!! looks like you have a good bus to work on, yes its hard work and some days youll feel like giving up but just think of when its finished and turning that ignition key! do a list of jobs and like your friends said just do one job at a time. it will come together quickly at the end! the good thing about doing a project like this is that you get to know the vehicle. good luck my friend and im already looking forward to the next video! a fellow vw driver!

at nothern tools they have a water-sand blaster that hooks up to a 4500 psi pressure blaster that will strip it down to the metal, watch some videos on Hydro blasting .

Great video Mitch, but be careful placing the axle stands on paving slabs, if one breaks and you're under there it'll be new underwear time.........if you're lucky
