@@Corsa15DT if your pump did not work or was not working properly. You would know about it. Also if your changing it to a new pump then yes it would work....

@@kimilesnipez It was not pumping at key turn in. After sometime I had t change it cause the car would not run. 140 euro for the pump.

Whenever I change fuel filter my car doesn’t start. I do all the steps shown but it won’t have it. So I end up spraying easystart into the air pipe and eventually it does the job

The1Rausch The do need filling after changing otherwise you will run the high pressure fuel pomp on air and without lubrication for a while. Use vcds to fill it or manually by hand.

Joytubeification Incorrect. On these vw’s particularly Mk6s (yes I’m aware this is a mk5) revving the engine initially after changing a fuel filter is essential, in the mk6s it’s part of the process for changing the filter, you run the risk of air locking the hpfp if you do not.

Hi there, i noticed you asked about why he filled the diesel in the filter housing..... I've watched a few videos on this and its the only way to get around not having a computer to prime the fuel pump so that when you try to start the car it turns over right away with out any air bubbles. I think if your using new fuel from most respectable gas stations it should be clean enough as it still has to go through the filter no?

Noah1985HA No. Did you have changed a dieselfilter? If not, so you schould do this and look into the filter housing. Diesel is a dirty fuel. You will find a lot of dirt in the housing and in the filter. His fuelsystem has two lines and remove the air by itself. just turn on the ignition few times on before starting the engine.

werkscult ya I've done it one time on my 2015 golf tdi so far but have been told there are 2 methods to priming the fuel pump so that it doesn't take extra cranking effort. 1 method is to use a computer to prime the fuel pump, the other method is to fill the fuel filter canister to the almost very top. i will point out others have said to put a gloved finger over the center of the filter hole so you don't get "dirty fuel" past the filter as I think that the unfiltered fuel soaks through the outside of the filter to the center which then is now clean which is where I believe the now filtered fuel is taken from (the center column through the filter) so if you pour fuel In to the filter canister but cover the top hole so the fuel has to go through the filter it should avoid dirty fuel from getting further into the system. but I will admit I'm not a certified mechanic so this is just what I'm under the impression of.. can you tell me if we dont put fuel into the canister and don't have a computer if we simply turn the key 1 click to activate the car with out starting it .. will that completely fill the canister and "prime" the fuel pump causing no excess cranking?

2015 TDI is a commonrail engine. But the Golf in this video is an old PD engine. The fuel pump you mean is not used by this engine.
