Excellent DIY advice, changed my Seat Leon (Typ 1P; 2005-2012) rear springs this morning in less than two hours.

This is a very good video . Shows you exactly how to do the job and it's not complicated . Well done . Forget the Genius comments re replacing worn bushes . We get the idea of how to do the job .

That shock absorbers not gonna last long with no dust cover
@thecrittergitter75762 жыл бұрын
You got that right, not to mention that the bump stop is degraded beyond use. I replaced both of mine. They will last another 200,000 miles.

Great stuff!! excellent! my one of the back tyre spring has been broken need to changed but not sure about the shock absorber. Any idea how to understand if shock absorber needs to be changed or not?

Nice one - forget about trying to do Golf 5 rear springs with the 2 coil compressors as there is only space for one. The method in this video is better I think.

2 coil spring compressors for rear springs,?
@seanwallace1972 Жыл бұрын
I don’t mean to criticise but when you had the lower arm supported with the jack,there was a lot of pressure on that lower rear arm bolt while removing it,hence having to use WD40 and the amount of drop you had from the hub?

What about replacing the bump stop on top of the shock? The one in video is gone! Rotted. Not good. The dusk cover appears to be worn as well.

Good video but why did you fit new rear shock and not put protective plastic sleeve back on?

Čaw chlape ,prosím ťa aký kábel používaš na diagnostiku ? a program máš kúpený alebo iba stiahnutý ? chcel by som si vyčistiť škrtiacu klapku a potom spraviť základné nastavenie +ešte nejaké drobnosti ponastavovať .. mám vw golf 5 rok 2004 za odpoveď ďakujem
@golfwagen41736 жыл бұрын

Velka vdaka
@golfwagen41736 жыл бұрын
ked pojdem pre malu do školy tak to zmeram. auto sa dvihlo (do povodnej výšky) lebo už neškrkam tam kde som predtým škrkal. predne som ešte nemenil.
@skeblo6 жыл бұрын
Vdaka, ja chcem vymenit a rozmyslam este nad podlozkami pod pruziny, ale ak nove pruziny to zdvyhnu dost vysoko, tak dam iba nove pruziny.

It is possible to change the bushings of that big arm? Mines are destroyed and I think I have to change them or buy a new arm. What do you think?
@golfwagen41736 жыл бұрын
it is easier to replace the whole new arm. but I also can not decide.
@Wiliuz6 жыл бұрын
Inner bolt of that arm usually gets seized, and the only way to get it out is to use a grinder or hacksaw.
@randomeddy6 жыл бұрын
I replaced the rear wishbones (big arms) on my 2006 Passat, what a pain of a job getting the old rusty bolts out, totally necessary to get new ones before starting, the new wishbones came with the bushes made in. I replaced the outer bushes while I was there, a hole saw and a drill made short work of getting the old ones out, getting the new ones in was another job, good job I knew what to do, it involved grinding a chamfer on the hub with a Dremel as the new bush would no go in squarely. The car needed the alignment doing before I could use it, it was very strange to drive with the rear toe being miles out.

All those bolts need to be torqued. That bottom bolt for the shock needs to be 180nm of torque and with that small ratchet you probably tightened it to about 80 or 100...that bolt will come loose and will likely end your life.

They seem like pretty sharp guys, when it comes loose, I bet they can figure out how to tighten it.
