I think everyone will agree with me that Peter is clearly a cut above anyone else. He's genuinely one in billion. The attention to detail and work ethic is second to none. I actually believe its a privilege to have Peter work on your car.

How many of you were watching the yellow drill and cutting tool move closer and closer to the edge as he sanded the pillars and put pressure on the table?!?! When they finally got closer and closer to the edge until I guess they fell at the 5:40 mark! It made me nervous, I wanted to yell "watch out!" But I'm guessing when one fell, he put the other one down as well. Hope the tools are alright! Great work as always on the pillars! I've had so many shops install my gear and you always have the best, most solid builds. Great job! Excellent work and keep the videos coming! I for one, enjoy it immensely. Great Work!

Did you see how fast he worked? Damn, Europe always gets the good drugs. Seriously though, footage sped up or not, you can obviously see how much work he put into this, not to mention his artistry and skill. Definitely a true professional- just look how neat and tidy he keeps the area he's working in. I lost count how many times he vacuumed, lol. He actually demonstrated his attention to detail encompasses the entire process, not just the finished product. BRAVO!

Loved the time-lapse. One detail stood out: When you folded the sandpaper and superglued the halves together to get a sanding pad that conforms well. Next time I don't have a foam sanding pad, I'll know what to do.

Peter your the best, no one can match your content on YT. Also please use a 3M mask for all that resin sanding, its not good in the long run. All the best xD

Hey Peter, have you ever considered 3d printing (specifically in combination with 3d scanning?). I've seen that you can inject 3d printed PETG parts with polyester resin for strength. Surely something like this would (in the end) would be less labour intensive? And easy as to replicate/apply to future builds etc? Love your work by the way.

IMO fleece is kinda obsolete for a lot of panels. The puzzle piece and foam fab is much more time efficient. And good to see I'm not the only one that uses speaker plugs/slugs for mixing boards.

If someone hasn't patience of Peter, you can use thin foam under final trim to cover some inperfections.
@pssound9749
@pssound9749 2 жыл бұрын
But is that foam stretchy to go over complex shapes?
@ilkkak3065
@ilkkak3065 2 жыл бұрын
@@pssound9749 You can use self-adhesive foam pieces and puzzle technic. It won't hide everything but works for minor scratches. Foam under final trim is used a lot in custom interior of trucks. Sometimes they use even 2" thick with leather and buttons. And if I remember correct BMW E30 had foam under final trim in door panels.

Takes me one long day per a-pillar. The ones I just made for a audison midrange and hertz tweeter I just made rings and made a skeleton with thinly cut sticks of plywood and then super glue fleece over it. Put a lot of polyester resin into fleece and just one layer of fiberglass on top of that right away. And then let it dry, sand it, then put body filler on top and then a lot of sanding. Sure is a pain ass. I've never done vinyl but that seems a lot easier than sanding perfect and painting. It was my own car so I didn't get anal about the sanding, there are minor imperfections but nobody would ever notice.
@pssound9749
@pssound9749 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that sounds quick, but how was the aiming done?
@Titans2138
@Titans2138 2 жыл бұрын
@@pssound9749 i don't care about them looking like mirror images or at the same angle, everything is aimed at the driver's head. I had a head because I made the rings the day before and actually the tweeter was there already and the pillar had a layer of fiberglass resin and body filler. I probably had a 2-3 hour head start on each day so maybe 13 hours per pillar. A lot of that is waiting for stuff to dry too though. The midrange was the hard part because I ran the numbers in WinISD and wanted a specific sized enclosure. The tweeter I just put in the pod that it came with and glue it the pillar and then put milkshake over it. It's very hard work to make these types of things.
