DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUY! YES THAT'S HOW YOU TAKE APART THE KEY BUT HE DOESN'T WARN YOU ABOUT THE IMMOBILISER CHIP! Yes the chip is the glass capsule in the top part of the case. If you break it or loose it or throw it away you won't be able to start you car anymore and it will cost you to replace it. This guy is a dick head.

the fact that he pinned your comment makes me think he didn't intend to do any harm, thank you by the way i had no idea the little capsule was the chip, i opened my key for battery replacement and i kept dropping it, im thankful i didnt lose it or break it

Tha glass capsule can be transfer for a new key(I saw in a video.Its not difficult but of course like everything what it seems easy can be difficult.

I can’t edit anymore the comment. But yeah maybe I overreacted since it costed me a lot of money to repair that little chip. He definitely misses out on crucial information. Very dangerous video….

So I have a A4 b5 with one of the key's fob unable to reprogram by the dealer as they said it was the fob transponder, the only solution is finding a used key fob and transplanting the key and swap the chip.

You can get new transponder chips from Ebay, Aliexpress etc. at $1 each. But you have to program the key if you have replaced the chip.

You cannot do that because the RFID chip has to be within 1-3'' from the ignition switch, (key hole) I thought about doing the same thing but found out it wont work

@@michaelwhaley3873 TUNING GARAGE is a KZfaq channel (in Spanish though) that demonstrates the install of a START/STOP button on a vehicle. There you can see what he does with the key chip.
