Slam the car all you want for being boring, slow etc but for some it is the perfect low cost car. My Dad wanted a car to replace an even older one and sent me out to get him a 1.6 VW Golf. I got him one of these in manual, same steering wheel but it's an SE model. Spent some time servicing it, new coil packs, cleaned the throttle body (FSI engines get epic carbon build up). I drove it for a few days afterwards and I have to say I like it... The 1.6 engine is slow but it generates enough torque to get to the legal speed limit and the mk5's main strength; its a very refined car for an ordinary hatchback. For some people it's all the car they need.

what's the difference with the FSI and the previous MPI? Direct injection?

I have a Golf V which has 1.6lt with 115hp FSI engine and only at 145k km 🙂 I love my car 🥰

Mακριδης Αλεξανδρος as a lambda car, it is very good, but not as a Golf. It doesn’t look like a golf should look like, doesn’t feel like a golf should feel like. Its GTI version is ok but not the standard Golf V I’d say.
