Awesome video! For those VW Jetta MK4 enthusiasts out there (that have experience with various coilovers), what is the best suspension system for a daily drive VW JETTA GLI 2004 2.8L VR6 24v (BDF) six speed. H&R, Bilstein, KW, Koni or KSport, or perhaps a mix and match, or something else? I want quality materials, able to go low (at least 2") and not too stiff. Any opinions out there? Please reply to my message.

You should really mention that every single nut/bolt you took out is TTY and should absolutely be replaced! Other than that, very helpful video, I appreciate it!

Well idk if you know but there is no such thing as a tty nut...sooooo you are wrong...and none of use are going to replace EVERY single bolt we take out when we work on our cars..some of them should be replaced..some don't need to be..good day

How to do up that nut after the rubber top mount? Do you have to hold the shaft? Same as the top nut? Every video people leave this out and don’t show you.

You either clamp the shock rod with vice grips or buy a strut nut tool and use a Allen wtench

How far out from the bottom did the front strut poke from the knuckle, I’m running these same coilovers abs they keep ripping boots

Great video! My only concern would be using an impact gun on the top strut nut during final install / torque as it will cause the shaft to rotate inside the strut and could theoretically cause damage from what I understand. Proper procedure would be to counter-hold the strut center shaft while manually tightening the top nut to proper torque spec. Otherwise great instructions!

Usually the non-adjustable coilovers are less sensitive to this. Where as if you were to do this with a KW, which uses a rotory style adjustable damper this would ruin it. Best practice is to what you're describing.

Would stock ride height be 60mm? I'm going to be doing a suspension overhaul on my Jetta and I've found that all the stock components end up costing the same or more than a coilover setup. I just want stock ride height. Cheers!

@@jaxon.frandrup just fine actually, so far I’m pretty happy with em, they have me low enough and they perform OK (these are cheap coilovers don’t expect high performance). I’ve done a shit ton of miles on em so far too, probably like 10k already, I commute like crazy and do regular weekend roadtrips,so far so good.

@@Humblegrind710___ maxed out they actually rub against the front sway bar. I have the car maybe one and half finger height from rubbing front and back. Which still leaves plenty of room to adjust further. You can definitely go real low with these. Also, they are still on my car, little over 20k miles later (do deliveries in my car for work so lots of mileage) and they’re still performing wonderfully. For a budget coilover I’ve personally got nothing negative to say.
