VW T5 Daytime Running Lights LED Bulbs. How to replace VW T5 Daytime Running Lights with LED Bulbs. The VW T5 LED daytime running lights are on all the time the ignition is on and go off when you put on your sidelights or headlights. Fitting the VW T5 daytime running bulb is fairly straightforward. The standard VW T5 Daytime running bulbs are 12V21W each so that's 42W of power being used with the ignition on and the engine not running. Personally I don't like them (but they are law) so in this VW T5 Bulb video I will show you how to remove the daytime running bulbs and replace with LED bulbs, ideally use LED Canbus technology equivalent bulbs as this will take much less power from your battery. It must have Canbus otherwise the computer thinks the bulbs have failed as they draw much less power! LED bulbs should last longer and give a nice ice white light but they are more expensive than standard filament bulbs.

No problem. If your dashboard lights start acting weird then put standard bulbs back in. I fitted LED ones and it sent my computer system a bit odd ! Even though the LED were meant to have Canbus technology

🙂Hi Lurgs, I like your videos. They have saved time not having to work some things out myself. You have some good tips that are easy to understand. Some of the fuses are in spots you wouldn't think. I recommend people watch you fuse videos if they any problems. 👍

hello!!! good video, thanks. I bought some similar lights, but they shine a lot! and they focus up, they can be adjusted to go down? like high beams. Thank you.

The daytime running lights aren't adjustable so odd they are shining up, are they slotted in properly, are they standard LED bulbs?

@@LurgsHowToGuides Yes! they are placed correctly, I have investigated, you are right they cannot be graduated. ..Yes!! They are standard LED bulbs. the light has two allen screws, to regulate, interior regulates height, and the one located further outside I have no idea :( thanks for answering. you have one more subscriber

Not sure, I think it’s called the bulb housing. Best bet is take a photo of it and take that to a VW garage and get them to search on their system

Don't put your new LED bulb on top of the battery while removing the right hand bulb. If you knock it off (like I did) the LED will roll under the battery tray and it takes forever trying to get it back out..
