On an inhospitable hive world, an ork infestation grows unchecked just outside of the city walls. Officials soon notice this, and requisition a force to destroy the orks. @@Panthi-QT Time would not have fixed the corporate greed that killed it. Trying to cash in on making it a MOBA-like game, that NONE of the fans either wanted or asked for - with strangely lore breaking mechanics and laughably cartoonish visuals and animations, with hugely downgraded cover system. It was an across the board stripped back, simplified and down graded version of the DoW franchise in every conceivable way except graphics fidelity and game engine... and remember those free heroes we got as they tried to salvage it? Yea, those were all definitely gonna be the first in a long line of paid DLC if the game was well received. Don't kid yourself. They had a license to print money with DoW3 if they released an updated LAST STAND game mode, Official version of the DoW2 ELITE mod and an updated/ Official version of DoW1 Apocalypse mod with bigger scales and unit caps such for the players that love that version of DoW.. And of course a decent Co-op campaign that mixed Battlefleet gothic's/TWW2's campaign map mechanics with DoW2's mission/hero squad mechanics. But we will probably never get a DoW 4 because they literally did everything the fans didn't want. They decided instead of listening to every single forum post since DoW1 vanilla launch day - they wanted to try and make a competitive Esports money maker MOBA... Fckin' LMAO.

Only that was not a good offense. In fact that was not an offense at all: all they have done was just leaving protection of walls, stopping outside and making their stand outside, which is just ridiculous. They could have either follow up their attack, trying to reach Orc's encampment, and possibly disrupt their preparations, or remain inside to have much more firepower to use in close cartiers, while funneling ennemies. They have just wasted men and armor.

@@RoderikPo On the contrary, where those tanks left within the confines of the hive, they would of had no room to maneuver and only two able to fire at once, making them easy prey for ork artillery's, and the gargant at the end. That said, their attack bought time for the evacuation.

RoderikPo traitor? No, while the rest of the planet’s aristocracy has fallen to Slaanesh the commander of the IG isn’t a traitor. He’s just an inexperienced young noble who bought his way to the top, and for losing this defensive position of the Hive city he will be executed for incompetence.

Those Gorknauts really carried the Orks through. That was a great killbox that should have worked, if anyone could kill the Gorknauts. Not one went down.

Agreed. 3 was major overkill. Once the first one passed the gate the infantry holding the killbox were annihilated. It would have been more interesting to see just one, giving the defenders a fighting chance to take down brute and halt the raid's momentum.

Cool, but I think the Guard weapons have been nerfed in the game. All that firepower should have annihilated the Orks out in the open. The Basilisks alone would have saturated the ground with a constant barrage. The heavy plasma cannons on the turrets on the walls would have defeated any Ork armor outside of a force field.

It would be a slaughter (for the Clones and Droids). A modern US or Chinese army could handle something like that better than a clone or Droid Army, though I guess it depends on the numbers. If an invading force landed outside a US city (and the army understood the threat) the reaction would be 8 or 9 MOABs launched from B-52s circling at 50,000 ft (basically out of site), which would have leveled all structures, equipment and buildings (and orks) in a 500 meter radius. The shockwave itself would have ruptured the internal organs of all living creatures in a 1 KM radius. It'd be possible if you were given them access to their legends gear, equipment, vehicles, units and weapons, etc. They have a lot of weapons, units and vehicles in Legends that they don't have in canon sadly /=.

Ehhhhh... You do realise that he didn't get a hive City correct? Those things are huge, like, multi km tall spire cities big enough to house billions. He basically did Angel Gate from DoW2 on its own. Nice, but it's damn near impossible to do a proper 40k battle currently, PC's can't handle those numbers.

@@ivanivanovitchivanovsky7123 It isn't about him getting it correct. None of the bases/cities are custom. We'd probably only get one video a year if he tried that. He used what tools were available to get a close facsimile of what a tiny portion of a hive city would be.

Some tanks would have been useful to hold the entrance, from the inside. Always catch the enemy on chokepoints, not in the open. A few Baneblades to oppose the Gargants. But most importantly, a Void Shield over the Hive City to prevent the Orks artillery from clearing the walls so easily.

At first I wondered why would the IG get out of their lines when they have the benefit of ramparts. Then I realized if the Orks reach the base of the walls, heavy turreted weapons can't target them and the Orks can lay melta and breaching charges...

The infantry dismounted too early. tanks could carry out an encirclement maneuver and continue encirclement as the accumulation of wrecked tanks in the center through which the infantry could operate. padded tanks block the view of both sides of the confrontation

As much as I love the Imperium, I'm actually glad to see someone else besides the Imperium win a battle. You can't win every battle, if they could, the orks wouldn't be the threat they are.. And this goes for your star wars vs 40k videos as well.. The Republic needs a victory.

I think V&V tactics usually picks clones to have the same level of experience as the IG in the simulations. I reality, most clones are at veteran or elite level. They aren't trained to rush the enemy in mass, they are trained to fight smart. That isn't really on display in the these videos. For example, in the VxV tactics battle of Christophis, the lightly armored (but more agile) clone army tanks charged out in front and engaged the heavily armored (but slow) IG tanks head on. This is the OPPOSITE of tactics. It is a complete lack of tactics and as long as clones fight IG using WWI tactics and ignore their strengths, they will lose since they are always at a disadvantage in pure firepower.

@@cgreen7157 because the clones constantly display a lack of tactics. They are trained to fight droids. Their performance in large assaults reflects this on planets like Umbara, Geonosis, Anaxis, Christpohsis, etc. Frontal assaults are conducted out in the open, and often without armored support. Even if they do, they charge in and close it commonly to engage in hand to hand combat (which they did on christpohsis and mandalore). These tactics only work well against droids, but when employed against a force that is much more superior firepower wise they get cut down.

@@VxVTactics Isn't it because some of the Jedi, who are in charge of leading the Clone Troopers, are being incompetent and not suited well as generals and commanders? Granted other Jedi became more experienced and have shaped up to their roles, their tactics are WW1 like and it cost a lot of deaths on the Clones.
