ഇന്ന് നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് ഏറെക്കുറെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ഇല്ലായെന്ന് പറയാൻ കഴിയില്ല.കിട്ടുന്ന സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ സ്വതന്ത്രത്തിലേക്ക് പോകാൻ അവർക്ക് കഴിയുന്നില്ല.സമൂഹത്തിലെ കുറേ പുരുഷന്മാർ ചിന്തിക്കുകയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ അവരുടെ വീട്ടിലെ സ്ത്രീകൾ സീരിയലിലും വിലകുറഞ്ഞ സിനിമകളിലും അഭിരമിക്കുന്നു.പക്ഷെ,അവരുടെ സ്വാതന്ത്രത്തിൽ കൈകടത്തരുത് എന്നതിനാൽ അവരെ മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ പുരുഷന്മാർക്ക് കഴിയുന്നില്ല എന്നത് സത്യമാണ്.എന്നാൽ ചില ഇടങ്ങളിൽ ഇതിന്നു വിപരീതമായി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.അതുകൊണ്ട് കാര്യമില്ല.സമൂഹത്തെകുറിച്ചും സാമൂഹ്യവ്യവസ്ഥിതിയെ പറ്റിയും ബോധവതികളാകുക എന്നുള്ളതും ഓരോ സ്ത്രീയുടെയും കടമയാണ്.ചണ്ടാലഭിക്ഷുകി എന്ന കവിതയിൽ ബുദ്ധേൻ്റെ കാലത്ത് വഴി നടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ ദാഹിച്ചപ്പോൾ കുറച്ച് വെള്ളത്തിനായി ഒരു സ്ത്രീയോട് ബുദ്ധൻ ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എങ്ങിനെയാണ് അങ്ങേക്ക് വെള്ളം തരിക ഞാനൊരു ദളിത് സ്ത്രീയാന്നെന്നും ഉയർന്ന ജാതിക്കാർക്ക് ജലം കൊടുക്കുന്നത് തീണ്ടലാണെന്നും പാപമാണെന്നും പറഞ്ഞു ഒഴിഞ്ഞു മാറുകയാനുണ്ടായത്.അതേസമയം,ദാഹിക്കുന്ന താങ്കൾക്ക് വെള്ളം തരാമെന്നും അങ്ങയുടെ ജീവൻ നിലനിർത്തുന്ന ഈ വെള്ളം തരുമ്പോൾ ഈ കാടത്ത വ്യവസ്ഥിതിയിൽ എന്ത് ശിക്ഷ ലഭിച്ചാലും എനിക്ക് പ്രശ്നമല്ല എന്ന് ചിന്തിക്കാൻ ആ കാലത്ത് അവർക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.അവർ അന്ന് അറിവിനേടാനോ പ്രതികരിക്കാനോ സാധിച്ചില്ല എന്നത് സത്യമാണ്.ഇന്ന് അങ്ങനെയാണോ? വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നേടുന്നു വയിച്ചും ചുറ്റുപാടും നടക്കുന്ന അസ്വമത്തങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കാനും കഴിയുന്നു.അതിന്നനുസരിച്ച് നീങ്ങാതെ അവനവൻ്റെ സ്വാ തന്ത്രത്തെ ശരിയായ രീതിയിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കാതെ സ്ഥാപിത താൽപര്യക്കാരുടെ കൊട്ടകങ്ങളിൽ ജീവിതം കെട്ടിയിടുന്നത് നല്ല കാര്യ മാണോ?
