I think there is a need of a proper video on How to Ride FAST. I mean there are couple of videos out there but if you check them, they are outdated, and out-of-topic. A proper video in which an expert rider like yourself gives solid tips on How to Lean, How much to Lean, How much pressure on which leg, Foot maneuvers for fast riding, How to prevent EUC from dying on one side in wind, How to keep speed constant while preventing tram-line/track line of tire into cracks on the road, especially for fast riding/during speed cruise. Please

liftspeed with the master v1 was 69.9 mph , fully charged (but not balanced). 114% PWM. Did the calibration and it cut off at 100% now. I set my beeps for 80% for now. I doubt ill reach high speeds anytime soon to warrant a PWM beep but its good to have it there just in case. :P

My PWM correction was about the same as yours for my EX30. My CP was closer to a -40% correction.

I love the idea of Cardo for wheel beeps! A few questions though: Is there any delay in hearing the the beeps from the app/Cardo vs hearing the beeps directly from the wheel? Will the beeps automatically turn down the volume of any music playing or people talking? If I use the app /Cardo for beeps, will the wheel beeps still be audible too, for redundancy? Thanks for the video!

Yes, there is a delay. Yes, beeps will take priority. The volume of your Cardo is also the volume of your helmet beeps - so make sure that volume is turned up. Yes, you can still hear the wheel beeps - how well you can hear those depends on your helmet, wind and other ambient noises, etc. . I definitely recommend doing a preflight check before each ride to check for your helmet beeps.

Thank you for the great and informative video! About PWM: I'm wondering how legit is that to calibrate the wheel at free spin, as opposed to the real world scenario when we have our weight on the wheel. And I think there might be different reasons for the cutout at 112% - like the RPM or the differences in voltage. But anyway I'm very skeptical at trusting those calibrations at free spin.

It is very reliable because it’s essentially telling you the resources the wheel is putting into staying upright. Field weakening does make pwm numbers less reliable though.

@@DawnSChampion for those that ride in the city or want to be safe it's a must. We had a rider go down and a tourniquete saved her foot after it broke. We've had people go down in group rides as well and it's been very good to be able to stop trauma and bleeding on site before ambulances arrive. Accidents happen. No specific kind of riding is immune to accidents.

Hey Dawn, I'd like you to try something for me. After doing your PWM correction in DarknessBot, go for a ride and try your free spin test again with a lower battery level. You'll see the PWM percentage cutout a lot lower. I've seen mine cutout below 40% after a long ride. If my first alarm is at 70%, that means my wheel will cutout before I get an alarm. This defeats the purpose of setting up the alarms in the first place.

Pwm is supposed to take battery level into account. That’s how it’s always worked for me. So at lower battery level, I’ll hit 80% pwm at lower speeds. In today’s ride, I did overtorque it and had a severe dip at 86% pwm at lower battery level.

That's what I'd assume as well, but try doing the free spin test at several points in your ride. My question is this... If you calibrate PWM at 100% charge, what does your PWM at cutoff read when your battery is low? If a low state of charge cuts out at a PWM below your alarm setting, do you still trust that your alarms will work before a cutout? Are you willing to risk your own safety to find out? I'd love to see you, Marty, and Roger discuss this. I think there is an inherent flaw with the PWM alarms in DarknessBot.

Tyre 36 psi, too high for me I set my Master to 29. 36 would be very squirrely. Airshock and suspension slides I lube them regularly with with Cycle Dry Lube. You ride a Master to the beeps, I'm not even sure I can ride the wheel that hard 🙂 I use Android and EUC World.

I run a shinko 244 on my Master and I'm not a fan of 35+psi ether. When I was running 28psi I dented and cracked my rim on a small....ish pothole. Its was more deep than big. I was doing maybe 25mph so I understand the need for the higher pressures. I ran 31 psi till I got used to it. I switched to 33psi (what the tire actually says for max psi) and I'm liking where it is now. Mind you I have yet to break 40mph (39.2 is the fastest iv gone on the new tire) so I cant speak for high speed feel. (40+ I consider high speed) but I do like the feel on the tire at 33psi. Still getting used to the 50/50 tire on the trails. It is more swirly than the stock tire , but 100% better on the street. If you running the stock tire still.....I would try doing the same as I did , but to be honest no pressure felt right above 30psi to me.

Watched your first PWM calibration video a while back and it was good, but I still have not implemented it. It would be nice not to have to use / purchase yet another helmet. Is the reason for not using earbuds that they are uncomfortable when worn under the helmet, they fall out, or something else? I've never been a fan of earbuds either, but I suppose I'd like them better than a cutout which I have only experienced once and it was not a pain-free incident.

When you get a helmet intercom, it'll come with flat speakers that you install into the helmet. Way more comfortable than earbuds

@@DawnSChampion I see. I just watched Adam's review and figured out that it's an accessory to a helmet rather than an entire helmet. Still quite pricey though. You and WW are The Best! Very different, but both good.
