W Block Stroker has a nice rumble in this Chevy Impala

Жыл бұрынThis 1960 Chevrolet Impala has had a motor upgrade to a 1960 W Block V8. We have stroked the W blocks original 348 cubic inches to 434, she is topped with "triple trouble", a tri - carb set up.
Before fitting the motor this W block made a lazy 364 hp and 432 ft lb on the engine dyno.
To keep with the original era of the Chevy we have fitted full stainless steel vacuum, fuel and power steering lines with polished Brass fittings and a copper vacuum advance line.
Modern MSD ignition controls the spark and a custom made dual mandrel bent 3 Inch Stainless steel exhaust system attached to a set of Hooker Headers give this 60s cruiser a nice rich deep sound.
Ready for some summer cruising in the Australian sun.

W's with the bat crap crazy block cut was like the old Lima MEL, it gave birth to the modern right angle cut Big Blocks. What a truly great homage to the 350 HP 348 Tri Power

The trunk emblem says the car was a 283cid engine car.

Was but this is a resto mod so nearly everything has been changed.

Was the tri-power idea ONLY to keep the engine looking stock? My '62 409 Impala had dual 4s and HiPo heads from the factory. It was rated at 409hp I was told. So which would have been the stronger runner in a 1/4 mile? Just curious is all.

He wanted a standard look but more power we have yet to put the car on the hub dyno as for power these engines were never a great design as overly large pistons and poor port design on intake and head's but it does look fantastic

Tri power isn't there for the power, just their because they look great.
