1&2: Yes, I know about this history but most Americans don't. The US and the Republic of China were allies in WW2 and the US supported the Republic of China. 3: The US has to interact very carefully with China because of the economic ties they have with each other. The US doesn't really care about things like the Chinese civil war, the US cares about its money. 4: There are no guarantees but education about history and the CCPs intentions is the best prevention. The Taiwanese people must learn to ignore propaganda and vote for a better future for themselves and their children.
