Here is a step by step video on how to replace the head gasket on a Mercedes E class w210 e220 CDI . First I recommend you watch the timing chain video, so you can see how I got to the point where I start in this video .
This can be a challenging task for most of the people out there , so keep in mind the risks if you can't complete this job . This is not to discourage but to help you save money and not waste them.
So be prepared with an impact gun for the crankshaft pulley , head bolts , and many other applications . The head gasket itself might not be that expensive however consider those other parts requiered or recomended to be replaced . The process will be similar or identical on the 5 cylinder or 6 cylinder diesel engines also for many gasoline engines from the same generation 1995 - 2003 like the e270 e320 cdi

You needed to open it again because you missed one valve (the one you got out). This engine is very clean, also the intake side is very good for the age it has. Thank you for your time on showing us this works. Keep on going.

Hi. I overheated my car. I have the same problem. Coolant in the oil. But not really so much oil in the coolant. Enough to make it a little dark. Did you figure out your problem be great if I could get some help from you thanks

Isn't better to put out all oil before or is better after .Why it ran rough at beggining. Do you have a video how you put out the turbo. Have a Ml 270 and has the same engine. Need replace the head gasket that has burn some water and a strange noise at engine near to chain

you are wrong about torque of the camshaft bolts. its not 16Nm, its 9Nm according to the manual. There is a sequence of their tightening.

The best is to have 2 . One for low specs 1 - 30 nm and second for higher specs like 25 - 200 nm for ex .
