Here with another simple, yet spooky halloween sugar flower idea! For this flower I mixed up the mediums by using gumpaste for the finger, and wafer paper for the colored petal. It came together super quickly, and I love this sugar flower on its own, but love it even more as a spooky halloween version!

Do you use a special technique to dry the wafer paper? So to dry faster

I do use alcohol which dries very quickly. For most wafer paper decor it dries in about 15 min. For this one, I really soaked it bc the veiner had so many deep ridges, so it took longer. But to answer your question, just using alcohol and leaving it by the sun is my usual go to. You could use a blow drier, or pop it in the oven (on its lowest setting) for just a few minutes, that’ll dry it really quickly!

This is great. Thank you. I like how you vein the flowers. What brand colour dust do you use as I feel like I sometimes struggle to get intense colours on wafer paper

Thank you! ❤️ Intense color is hard in wafer paper. Here I used a combination of roxy&rich, and sunflower sugar art colors. My wafer paper was also colored with gel colors first, that helps.

@@FiveTwoBaker Thank you. I was also wondering if you used the thicker wafer paper as the finished flower looks so stiff? And if not, do you ever use thicker wafer paper?

Of course! I use grade O wafer paper, but here I doubled the wafer paper to make it more sturdy. Grade O is the only type I've used so far, so I can't advise outside of that. Hope that helps!

Hi! On the fingers, a dresden tool. On the petal of the flower, a veiner. I have links in the description for everything except the veiner. Unfortunately, that was a gift and I haven't found a similar one online yet. But if that's what you're looking for, I'll link it if I do find it!
