I consider it sheer folly to spend a huge amount of money on a wedding: it's one day of your life and that money would likely be far better enjoyed on a honeymoon or more prudently spent on expenses like putting a downpayment on a home, especially given the extremely high rates of divorce. Spending a ton of money on a day that you will likely not even be able to enjoy because you will be so stressed that something will go wrong boggles my mind. People can ABSOLUTELY do what they want.
