Wagner chief tells Zelensky to abandon 'encircled' Bakhmut

Жыл бұрынThe chief of the Wagner group has called on Volodymr Zelensky to abandon Bakhmut as he claimed his fighters had "practically encircled" the Ukrainian city.
Yevgeny Prigozhin said: "The Wagner paramilitary group units have practically surrounded Bakhmut, only one road remains" to leave the city."
"If earlier we were fighting against the professional army, we now increasingly see old people and children," Prigozhin said in the video filmed from a building's rooftop.
"They are fighting, but their life expectancy in Bakhmut is now very short, one day or two... give them a chance to leave the city," he said.
The video then showed an old man and two younger men who asked Zelensky to let them leave.
It comes after the General Staff of the Ukraine Military said that Ukrainian forces repelled more than 85 attacks in the five principal sectors of the Bakhmut front line.

I originally saw a cut MSM version that only showed Prigozhin's speech without the panned photo of the Ukrainian prisoners. Prisoners should not be interviewed but the image of the two young men is haunting. They deserve their adolescence without living through the unforgettable hell of a military bombardment.

Everyone expected the city would be taken months ago. The fact that it took this long is an embarrassment for what should of been a speedbump that slowes the Russians down while the bigger cities west of Bahkmut prepare their defences. Edit: 2 months later and they STILL haven't taken the city

Well, he was a murderer and he got killed, but he was right on the issue he's referring to in this video. Bakhmut had almost fallen and asked Zelensky to just retire his troops so that some lives could be spared. Zelensky refused, more people perished (on both sides) and Bakhmut fell anyway

The Ukraine also had a airforce and thousands of tanks. The Ukrainian ground forces were bigger than any nato forces even America. Russia now have 1.5 million soldiers ready for battle . Americas military max size is 497’000. Russia are also not alone, there’s a few countries ready to join in. 3.4,billion people are already part of brics+
