Just to be clear is it the line to earth voltage or line to line you area referring to and does the same apply to the standard 221? Having had atex experience many moons ago (no longer in that type of work) would have thought the original 221 could just be upgraded instead of a new range. Alot of din rail terminal manufacturers standard terminals are atex approved as most of the works done by the enclosure in the event of a fault. Thanks again a real help as normal into up and coming products

To be clear, you can’t use these in any Ex enclosure. Depending on the box, it’s certificate of conformity may have special requirements that you have to use the ex terminals provided or a maximum amount of certified terminals.

I like them , can the be used in same way as the original 221 ? Ie can they be use instead of the original orange 221s? Fantastic video guy’s as always 👍👍👍👍❤️

Is there an approved Wago adaptor or carrier that fixes to a, properly installed for the hazard, explosionproof GUA or GUR splice box?

Often wondered why Wago (or other manufacturers) don't produce a four lever connector, why only a push fit, which is no use when using fine flex ( unless crimped with long bootlace)

Like the comment below, I worked in EX/ATEX work years ago wiring up these types of Junction boxes for hazardous area cctv systems. We never used any specific EX approved connectors/terminals inside EX boxes. I remember eexb being for different zones and eexd for higher hazard areas. The new wago's are probably just a new type of LS0H material (Low smoke zero halogen) which we also used in cabling to the boxes. Im not upto date with latest Atex standards, so dont shoot me :-) Great video guys, as usual.

I love Wago, but they’ve basically created something that’s near useless. They’re Eex ‘e’ rated terminals, for use in an Eex ‘e’ enclosure or junction box. Unfortunately one of the main rules used is that you can’t modify enclosures that usually includes adding extra terminals or essentially anything that was not part of the original cert! So unless Wago make some Eex ‘e’ enclosures where we can use the terminals, I can’t see where I could use them effectively in a hazardous area!

Meanwhile back in the real world, these connectors have issues in respect of connection reliability.
