Reminds me when I first came to Singapore to study. I took Chinese as MTL and remember usually our teacher asked us to write 习字 and then 5 words to do 造句. I don’t understand what she’s saying and ended up not doing anything. The next day I got punished but thankfully my friend told my teacher that I’m a foreigner and… Yeah, I have extra lessons to follow hahaha

1:10 For people that are non Chinese. Chao Ji Bai means a bad word. As in the swear word 'mf' (Hope you know the full meaning of mf) so I hope I'm not teaching bad things to any of y'all, I'm just giving out some info

I remember when I was like 5 and learnt that 1, 2 and 3 were just 1, 2 and 3 lines and thought “oh this should be easy” That was my first Chinese lesson. A week later I found out 4 is not just 4 lines and 0 is just too difficult

Not just Chinese , every language classes usually the male student learns the language for their gf. (Speaking from experience , I've joined a Malay language class somewhere in 2017-2019, the Chinese dudes in the class gave the same reason 😂)

As a hongkonger, we usually speak Cantonese than mandarin so that’s why we don’t really speak it well, maybe people from Asia don’t know Chinese so don’t judge people because their Asian.
