i kinda thought of something like this, but i felt it was sort of pointless and overly complicated anyway. spy could swing weapons that don't hurt and fire guns but with blanks, build hologram buildings and sentries that look like they work (but they don't), and perform and participate in any taunt. i think all it will do is change what people will spycheck, but also allow spy to make fake sounds to trick people to his advantage. now if you could just change spy from the master of disguise to the master of illusion, there would be a whole new way to play, but it will either work really great, or make you completely useless to your team.

they should let spy listen to the other teams voice chat, team chat and taunt.

I mean. i would love this. Just that little extra stuff to assuage suspicion, but not enough to make him somehow overpowered, like allowing him to keep his disguise and shoot. Just taunting and building upgrading (maybe make it so it doesn't actualy gain points, thus being something an observant engie might catch). I wouldn't even want it for some legit big-brain spy plays, i'd just go around an engie area pretending to be an engie and see how long before i get found out, it'd be like a picnic heavy, except with spy.

The red team will be so confused seeing a red spy building a blu dispenser

The problem is, if Spy has so many options to sell his disguise (being able to taunt, scope in as Sniper, fake shoot, etc.), people will eventually end up just spychecking everybody they see by default, because otherwise there would no way to know if someone was a Spy or not.

Honestly I feel like spy needs a dedicated "mimic" button that fakes a different action depending on the disguise. For instance, scoping in as sniper, carrying buildings as engie, revving up as heavy, etc.
