Hi, I am your host Siddhartha! I have been an entrepreneur from 2012-2017 building two products AddoDoc and Babygogo. After selling my company to SHEROES, I and my partner Nansi decided to start up again. But we felt unequipped in our skillset in 2018 to build a large company. We had known 0-1 journeys from our startups but lacked the experience of building 1-10 journeys.
Hence was born The Neon Show (Earlier 100x Entrepreneur) to learn from founders and investors, the mindset to scale yourself and your company. This quest still keeps us excited even after 5 years and doing 200+ episodes.
We welcome you to our journey to understand what goes behind building a super successful company. Every episode is done with a very selfish motive, that I and Nansi should come out as a better entrepreneur and professional after absorbing the learnings.

The thumbnail said "Alarms destroy your sleep", and I cannot agree more from personal experiences. It's much better to experience falling into sleep, and waking up naturally. It helps to have the body's circadian cycle in sync to be able to wake yourself up, without needing an alarm.

True, Alarm does get rid of the energy we should truly get while we get up and it affects the whole day.

On another note, love the chapters of this podcast. Much more subject matter in the podcast, than a typical interview that focuses much more on background experiences than actual POVs shaped by those experiences. Appreciate this kind of podcast much better.

What is deep sleep? Stage 3. Stage 3 sleep is also known as N3 or deep sleep, and it is harder to wake someone up if they are in this phase. Muscle tone, pulse, and breathing rate decrease in N3 sleep as the body relaxes even further. The brain activity during this period has an identifiable pattern of what are known as delta waves.

Is it better to sleep with a pillow? Without a pillow to support the head, side and back sleepers may experience stiffness or soreness in the lumbar or cervical spine. Referred neck pain from not using a pillow may also contribute to tension headaches. Even when stomach sleepers don't use a pillow, neck pain isn't necessarily unavoidable.

Why is my deep sleep so low? Time spent in deep sleep also changes through the lifespan. Older adults usually get less deep sleep and REM sleep than middle-aged adults. Various substances and medical conditions can also affect the amount of time spent in deep sleep. Conditions such as chronic pain, asthma, and heart disease reduce deep sleep.

Should I wake up when I naturally wake up? "The overall best is if you can wake up naturally because you're done sleeping," he said. On the other hand, if you're waking up early on just a few hours of sleep, you should probably try and squeeze in some more shuteye. In general, many of us get the most of our REM sleep between the hours of 3 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Does a pillow affect your sleep? Sleeping with a pillow that is too big or too stiff can give you the most sleep disruption as it naturally pushes the head forward, restricting the airway making it difficult to breathe. It also can set strain on the neck and your upper spine. The end result is sleep patterns that are no less than uncomfortable.

How much deep sleep is normal? Deep sleep is essential for health and wellbeing. Most adults need around 1.5-2 hours of deep sleep per night. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advise adults aged 18-60 years to aim for at least 7 hours of sleep per night. Around 25% of this should be deep sleep.

What type of pillow is good for sleeping? You might prefer your pillow to have a specific feel but don't forget to take your sleeping position into account. Soft pillows are ideal for stomach sleepers, while side sleepers typically do better with firmer pillows. Back sleepers may want to consider medium-firm pillows for the best support.

Is it healthier to wake up naturally or with an alarm? Setting alarms to wake up can negatively impact your mental health or mood. Sleep plays a significant role in emotional regulation and mood stability. Interrupting your sleep with an alarm can leave you feeling irritable, stressed, and anxious, which can indirectly impact your heart health.

Is 2 pillows good for sleeping? It is best to sleep with one pillow to support your head and neck. Stacking two pillows under your head can lead to improper spinal alignment and neck pain. However, you can sleep with a second pillow or body pillow to support your body and maintain sleep posture.
