I’m a direct descendant of the Waldensians on my mothers side and am so grateful for a well-executed, beautiful documentary of my ancestors. I have a four year masters degree in theology and am proud to have a love of scripture and theology as they did centuries ago!

I have always been fascinated with the Waldensians. I pray that I will be as faithful in the not so distant future, when we go through the time of trouble. Moved with Holy zeal watching this video. The waldensians 400 soldiers were like Gideon 300 soldiers. He will be with us till the end.

This episode brought me to tears...this is what we are going through right now and it is going to come down to the events described in this episode. I am reading it right now. I found it amazing that God helped the 400 stand their ground against the wicked roman catholic genocide.

Us Mennonites, were Waldensians before being nicknamed Mennonites in the 16th century when Menno Simons began leading this group of Believers in Northern Holland (Friesland), moved by their strong faith and immersion upon the confession of their Faith (thus no infant baptism). 7th day Shabbat keeping and Feast keeping (Leviticus 23) and clean eating (Leviticus ch 11)...eventually falling for the Road to Rome, perhaps because of the persecution for rejecting the ways of Catholicism. Jeremiah 16:19 prophesied this time! YaHWeH-YaHshua always preserves a Remnant! Some of us have been returning to the Roots of our forefathers, which is Torah with YaHshua, Messianic Believers! Yisraelites from the 12 Tribes; taking Joy in walking in obedience to YaHWeH's instructions for Righteous Living. ❤❤❤ YaH is on our side! Psalms 86 Shalom Alechem!

What it must have been like to hide up a mountain to avoid death at the hands of a group of people who openly considered themselves holy. And still to fight for your freedoms.

My great grandmother's madan name was Waldo, and the name traces directly back to Peter Waldo. I wasn't told much about the history growing up, but one story I heard was that Peter Waldo was a friend of Saint Francis of Assisi, going back before Francis's "come to Jesus" moment. They use to party. Saint Francis inspired Peter Waldo to come to Jesus, but Peter, would not align/devote himself to the Catholic Church who's power structure was centered around the systemic corruption of all things holy. So he broke from the Catholic church and founded Waldenses. I don't know how much of that is truth or legend, but that's the family story that's been passed down.

My family was Waldensian from the beginnings of the movement until the 1800s when my great grandfather left for America. Crazy to hear about all the trials they went through. I know one of them was attacked on Christmas taken back by the church and burned at the stake.

Out of curiosity, do you ever plan to do a series on the early church? After the apostles but before Constantine, as it were? I am Native American/American Indian, by descent from the federally recognized tribes. I also have *non-Indigenous* ancestry. By my grandfather. This is my grandfather's heritage. They went to the United States in 1850. The Italian heritage in America is largely associated with Catholicism, but that's not universally true, which, can make it difficult to represent. I just know they're the last of my folks to get to America. Which is significant in it's own right.

There are Waldensians here in the middle of the USA with the same family names as 1200 AD. My Uncle's Wife was a a Courdin and a Arnaud.

My Great Great Grandfather followed the Waldensian Saints and missionaries to America first to be settled in Ogden Utah . He would later move his family to Vadese NC which would become the largest Waldensian settlement in America. The waldenses were some of the tribes of of the house of Israel. God said that the house of Israel was going to be filtered through gentile nations but will finally plant them in a new land and move no more. After 586 during the slavery of Judah to Babylon God used Jeremiah to tear down the crown from Judah to plant it in the house of Israel whom had been without a king after their own captivity to Assyrian.
