I have to agree in part with.our Irish cousin not NZ as a whole.tour awesome but your RFU the year we did our Anthem after the Haka and they went mad, calling us out for being disrespectful, unfortunately i think as this is a war cry the disrespect is not expecting a response, when We visit NZ fine.we play by the rfu rules, but in my opinion set foot on someone's land and make a challenge it deserves a response, i also find a little racism involved as other Pacific Nations literally have 'haka off's' and contrary to modern belief racism isn't white v everyone else, it's the exclusion of one group, by another but again this ironical is only the suits, my personal experience of Polynesian people has always been positive my only grumble would be most are funnier than me

I'm Irish, born and bred here in Ireland. I've long admired Welsh rugby since 1970's through to today. I've got to say the Welsh response that afternoon was nothing less than superb, to the haka. Wales stood their ground and rightly so. You play Wales in Cardiff, you're in their territory and you respect the history that is Wales and their rugby. Those Welsh players and their manager Gatland responded the right way. I was in Lansdown Road in 1989 when the Irish team marched up to the New Zealand and eyeballed them. That was superb but this response by Wales was as good if not better. Love Wales and their rugby!

The Haka is a challenge and also a sign of respect as someone else has mentioned. Haka's are used on many occasions for respect. (And I'm half Welsh half Kiwi) Keep this tradition going!!

I'm and Englishman and it makes me smile to know that there are still sports out there in which people can be proud of their nationality without taking it to extremes. I know I compare football and rugby all the time but at least in rugby you can see people from both nationalities sitting in the same stand together enjoying the game without the fear of being attacked because of where you're from.

I don't like it. I find it disrespectful doing that in someone elses country and pretty cocky to want the others also to move away first. I would just get on with my warming up, not being bothered by it at all. Also as a spectator I just have to laugh because to me it seems so pathethic. So we are all different. I still think the AB are the best team ever and great rugbyplayers, nothing against them their country or whatever. But for me the haka is a complete waste of time and somehow it seems to introduce some inequality??

It's funny how you see people saying to ban the haka. It isn't all a war dance. It is also for strength and pride in our country. We may be small but this is what is heard. How our language is symbolised and past down through generations. So saying to ban it, is like telling Maori's they must stop talking their language... It ain't gonna happen mate.

Totally disingenuous to do a war-dance and then play a mere sport afterwards. Don't act like you're intent on bashing skulls and cracking necks if you only want to win a match. Of course these psychotic manchildren probably would be down for some good old-fashioned ultraviolence if only society permitted it.

@tiancadcultura Hi. I am from South Africa, and that was the New Zealand traditional war-dance/challenge before they play a rugby match. New Zealand, as well as the island teams(Tonga, Samoa and Fiji) all do a wardance/challenge like that before a rugby match. It is a truly great tradition, and in this case, Wales provided one of the best responses ever. I hope you are enjoying the world cup.

I’m welsh!! hen wood fy nhadau is a lush anthem but in rugby New Zealand is so.. amazing. I’m not sure if it’s a cultural / traditional thing but I love it!!

@thekeeid that was in Nov 2006 and I was there. The WRU requested that they do the Haka before a minutes silence, prior to kickoff. NZ said that they'll do it immediately before kickoff, or not at all. So they did it in the dressing room. The crowd were furious.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I would love to see the Haka responded with Morris Dancing. Just for a laugh, and it could put them off their game.

@allout4play I agree with you, I really like the New Zealand team. This performance is awesome. The performance it self would be intimating for their opponents to face. I would really love to go to New Zealand and love to see live performance of the game with this involved.
