you use oppa pretty much anytime there is a dude older than you(if you are a girl). Like you would call your older brother oppa, your friend that's older than you oppa, if you want your boyfriend, or a stranger dude that looks older than you. 8:00 actually if literally translate "oppa" to english is Big brother, but its matter with which tone of voice u are pronunciate it, like if u pronunciate it with sweet voice its become more like "sweety" or "honey". but if u pronunciate it normaly its basicly big brother, ussually the sister calling their big brothers like that, and the couples calling their boyfriend with much more soft voice tone, its really hard to understand that word just u need to listen so much koreans while talking and get used to it
