Walked Up Shooting For Pheasants

Күн бұрынThis week I had an invitation to a “walk one - stand one” shoot, the ground was simply spaniel heaven and me and Ted and a great time and Mrs R’s new little cocker “Dott” is coming along really well. The farm is a haven for all kinds of wild life as well as game birds and it really did showcase the benefit that shooting can have to the wider environment.

wow - that running bird at 8:32! barely hit the ground and it was off at top speed! The dog closed fast, though..

Yes they are….blue plastic barrels with spirals in the bottom of them…..cheers Nick

see how ted was struggling to bring the birds back? around 6 and a half minutes in? I've got the same problem with one of my dogs. and I don't know how to help him bring them back without dropping the bird any tips or hints?

YES!! SHOTKAM Video integrated!!! I thill haven't 'pulled the trigger' on buying one yet, but this video makes me want one even more. Nick, on the misses were you behind or in front of the birds? Thanks, Rick

Hi Rick….I am pretty sure I was in front of the birds, also when I pulled some stills from the footage the shot pattern was still really tight so I think I will be taking a visit to the gunsmith in the New Year to see if he can open the chokes up a bit. The Shotkam takes a bit of working out but I do like the alternative angle they give…..cheers Nick

By the footage I would say you are seeing too much rib on that gun. You are above or up the side on a lot of your shots
