First up, we head to Bedfordshire to pay a visit to gamekeeper extraordinaire Paul Childerley. This time he's got something different for us: a walked-up shoot for pheasants and the occasional duck. Get an exclusive insight into a day in the life of a rough shoot, from the start of the day through to the final pick-up - with a whole load of shooting in between.
And from Las Vegas, it's SHOT 2015, the biggest shooting and hunting trade show in the world. Seriously, it's huge - but we've braved the aisles to bring you news on the hottest new products this year, including releases from Winchester, Benelli, Sako and Swarovski.

Quite good show this week Peter,...a lot of very interesting products there. I especially enjoyed te pheasant hunting at the beginning.

Thanks for the nice show. I see you are allowed to drink some alcohol during the walked-up hunt. It is a little surprising for me since I have hear that the restrictions relating to guns are really strict in GB. No offence, just curious, because we in Slovakia can not. Anyways nice video!

I have never hunted for birds, let alone the good looking pheasants you have there, so I have a question. What exactly is 'walked up pheasants', as your video's title shows?. This may seem like a stupid question, but I just don't know, and I'd like to be 'educated' in what this means. Cheers

Reg Sparkes you can kind of tell from the video but it is essentially beating but you walk with you gun and shoot what you get up.

Please forgive my american ignorance, but what is the purpose of the Y on the top of the game keeper's walking sticks.

That was my first thought, but a shooting stick seemed out of place while bird hunting.

Even still they seem a bit short for deer stalking. Anyway this all has me longing for the Texas dove season at the end of the summer.

The "Y" on the stick is simply there to make it easier to use the stick on rough/hilly ground and they're normally called a thumb stick. Your thumb rests within the "Y" or "V" as you walk.

Chris Tompkins might be wrong but they are traditional shooting socks in the UK. But the are usually worn with booked so only the top shows and they are usually a green, the red is just a bit random honestly

What’s with the stupid long red socks? Totally impractical with damp grass around. Do you guys use black powder cartridges and arrive at the shoot on a horse? Very silly fake country gents.

Pete Bee you would normally wear those socks with Wellingtons instead of walking boots hence their long length
