This is actually a huge relief. I was needing something like this for me and my friends, and I did not feel like spending 500 or more dollars on peltors or ops core etc etc. This is such a better option for not breaking the bank when it isn't needed.

Especially if you need multiple ones for a few different people. Not many people could afford 350 + accessories for each person to go to the range! I'm not sure how much better those things are at hearing protection even, I think just more durable.

David , you can also purchase handheld ham radios that are easily programed to these same FRS channels and extend the range of these Muffs to 5 miles or more in open country. They sell the handheld UV9R-Plus " waterproof and rugged " for around $35-$40.00. software is free .

Have you used these with tractors? Same thing I was interested in them for, but I was worried about the engine noise not being sharp enough to engage the noise cancelling. Pretty pointless in they just end up amplifying the ambient noise instead.

@@Robmancan1987 I've never worn nor known anybody to wear hearing pro on a tractor unless pulling an implement line a blast sprayer that it's self makes enough noise to be unpleasant

@@Jcreek201 this is waayyyyy late but I’m a contractor and I use these on the M88A2. Idk how loud the tractor is but for the 88A2 engine I can still hear it but it’s definitely not as loud without them. It muffles the noises of the engine but I can also hear my ground guides voices wayyy above the engine noise for better direction.

I have a set of 5 for my CCW and Advanced Firearm Students and love them... Still have not seen any info on how to turn off the "Roger Beep"... only thing I dislike about mine. Also, I've ruined dozens of Peltors in the rain... havent had one of these fail, even in down pours.

Just bought the headset when I went to the range the other day. I was so amazed by the protection against mine and other people shots. I could hear the safety officer talking to the people next to me with such clarity.

Wish they had a version of the boom mike that plugs into a Baofeng for some cheap tactical comms, rather than having to spring several hundred bucks for some Comtac III's or something.

I use a set of 4 in my can am maverick x3 and they work really good vox doesn't work very good with the engine noise so i just use ptt

I got 4 of these to use while I’m out jet boating the only thing is I wish the boom mic was a inch or 2 longer so it can set infront of your mouth other then that cool setup I’m thinking about how to extend the mics myself

Damn that’s awesome! For $33 I’ll have to pick one up. I’d like to hook a lapel mic up to my hand held ham and then to my razor’s and see if there is any feedback into the ham. Would love to have a boom mic for the headset to man tho..

Hopefully Baofeng will incorporate a more direct link between the UV5R series radios by passing the need to link the Btech mic . Be a nicer cleaner set up with the Walker head sets. Meaning radio direct to the Walker mic.

I’m interested in using these not just for shooting. Can you turn down the ambient outside sound so you don’t hear all the outside noise but still hear the radio communication?

Walkers are a active noise reduction were the Howards are a passive noise reduction. I’m glad I made the right decision when I bought mine.

So they have improved the build quality, then? The Amazon reviews are positively filled with complaints about broken mic stems, even the recent ones. Would love to take the leap if they have buffed them up a bit, as they would be perfect for us. Thanks for the vid, in any case I242!

Yeah the first thing I did out of the best was push the mic up and down, no issues, It seems if you look at this one and the ones in the pics on Amazon, that the area was beefed up a bit AND covered with some kind of rubber coating.. so far no issues I even dropped them and no issues on the mic at all.

Have you used these on a loud piece of equipment like a big lawn mower or something like that? I want to buy a few for when we go jet boating in our mini jet boats but they can be kinda loud and I’d hate to find out that the engine noise comes through the microphone too much.

Yup they work well in loud environments cus they filter out outside noise but allow the walkie talkie audio to come in clear.

Wish someone would make one of those with ham frequencies in it, could be very handy when doing public service events that are loud, I wonder if the guts from a Baofeng could fit inside the case, may pick up another just to cannibalize it and see

I didnt hear any tones, it might be off by default in the new version. I know I always turn those off on my other radios

Well, I just found my new Airsoft comms system. I've had Walker razors for quite some time already. With this, I don't need to buy a new mic, radio, or any of the other bullshit. It's all in one package, all I will need now is Arc rail mounts.

Not bad really, it has a pretty decent wind shield on it so its not a real issue at least on mine it wasnt I have used them at the range on windy days here (Every day seems windy here in the desert lol) and they worked well without wind noise.

Its a radio of its own, (FRS Radio) so there is a radio inside of this attachment already, you would need a different unit with ham radio frequencies in it to use this as a ham radio.
